"Mama."
Luke looked over at me, then down at Lilianna with a still shocked expression. "Did you just say mama?" He asked, as if he hadn't heard her clear as day.
"Mama!"
I didn't know how to react. All I knew was that I was smiling. I knew I wasn't Lilianna's real mom, and I never would be. But, part of me couldn't help but love the fact that that was how she saw me. She looked up to me to the point where I was a mother forgive to her. My heart warmed at the idea of her calling mama.
Luke surprised me when he turned and placed her in her crib before walking back toward me with a hand scratching the back of his neck. "Um...I'm sorry." He started hesitantly.
I cocked my head to the side with an eyebrow raised. "Why are you sorry?" I asked with confusion. I honestly didn't mind. I found nothing wrong with it whatsoever. There couldn't have been a problem with it. Unless...he did have a problem with it. I backed off slightly and waited for his reply.
It took a minute. He seemed to be sorting through his thoughts. Of course, I was willing to accept it if he didn't want Lilianna to call me mama. I wasn't her mother, and Luke and I still didn't know exactly what we were. Maybe he wanted to wait until things were definite, or maybe he would just never want his daughter to refer to me as her mother. I could understand that, as much as it hurt to think about.
"Well just, you don't have to let her call you that." He said more quietly.
I smiled softly and moved to wrap my arms around him. "What would you think if she did?" I questioned softly in his ear.
He gulped and ran his hands over my body gingerly. "Well...I'm fine with it, to be honest. I mean, you have been her only mother figure. And she really likes you and-."
I cut him off with a finger over his lips. "I asked what you think," I said again.
He gulped, his grip on me tightening and becoming more possessive. "Honestly? I'd love it if she could call you her mama. Really call you her mama." The way he looked at me, his eyes widened slightly, and eyebrows furrowed in worry. It was as though he implied something more to his meaning than just what was being said.
"What are you saying?" I asked for clarification.
He bit his lip, eyes searching over me. With sudden quickness, he leaned in and kissed me passionately. "I'm saying I want to be with you, Cleo. I don't want to be just fuck buddies anymore. I don't think that's enough now. I want- no, I need to be with you. Fuck, I need you so fucking bad." He growled. I didn't even get to reply before he kissed me again. This one was softer, but with just as much passion as he'd previously shown. I responded with the same amount of vigor and excitement.
"I'm sorry." He said as soon as we broke apart.
"Stop saying that." I replied with a slight chuckle.
He ignored what I said and continued speaking. "I know I brought that on suddenly, and we haven't even talked about an actual relationship. Just I...I need you, Cleo. I need you so fucking bad. I think I would die if I had to live without you. You're what keeps me grounded. When the rest of the world is spinning out of control, when I come home after killing human beings, hell, when I feel like I'm a terrible father, you're right there. You're always right there, helping me and pulling me up again. You encourage me, and inspire me to be a better man. For myself, for my daughter, and for you. You make me happy, Cleo. So damn happy. So, will you be my girlfriend?"
My heart stopped. Then it ached. I had wanted this for so long. So, so long. Now, he was finally asking. With a grin, I threw my arms around him and wrapped my legs right around his waist. "I thought you'd never ask." I murmured against his lips before kissing him deeply.
He responded with eager motions of his own lips against mine. His hands roamed my body before finally settling on my ass to keep me up against him. I moaned into his mouth when he squeezed, God I loved when he did that.
The next thing I knew I was being pushed against the wall. Luke made sure I was stable resting against the wall before he let his hands wander again, this time settling them on my breasts. He made his way kissing and nipping down my neck, sucking softly at the base of my ear.
I looked over a few feet and found Lilianna fast asleep in her crib. So, with a saucy smile, I pulled back and gripped Luke's hair to make him look at me. "I think we should take this to the bedroom. What do you say?" I suggested in a low sexy voice. My lips curled into a pout that I knew he wouldn't be able to refuse.
And I was right. He took one single glance to make sure Lilianna was alright, smirking when he found her asleep as well. "No way you're going home tonight, baby doll." He whispered in my ear before lifting me from the wall and carrying me to his room.
We landed somewhat roughly on the bed, and he trapped me under his weight, looking down at me with a wicked smile. "You're staying in my bed, and I'll have you moaning all night long, if I have anything to say about it." He was a confident man, and that was one thing I loved about him. He wasn't overly confident, but just enough to the point it was sexy.
I pulled him down on me even more with my legs around his waist and arms around his shoulders. Leaning in, I whispered in his ear, "I want you to make me scream."
