Hey guys! Sorry for the super short chapters. Honestly, it seems really easy until you are the one writing it.
I will try to update every 2-3 days.
"Hey, Sophie!" Fitz called as she walked walked past the fallen gates of Everglen.
"Hey, Fitz," she called back. Fitz looked adorable today- his cute teal eyes glinting in the sunlight.
"You look beautiful today," Fitz breathed.
Sophie blushed. "Thank you," she said.
Fitz cleared his throat. "Well, thank you for coming here. I believe I asked you to come here to relive ourselves of the predicament we are in?"
"What predicament? And why do you sound so formal?" Sophie asked.
"Nevertheless, I am glad you have decided to meet me here in the lush gardens of Everglen Manor."
"Follow me," Fitz said, walking to the left.
Sophie followed. She looked into his beautiful eyes, the eyes she'd loved since she met him. But they looked different- colder, not warm.
Something was definitely off.
When they reached a close clearing, Fitz pulled something out of his pocket.
"Here," he said.
"You didn't have to get me something," Sophie said, blushing. She looked at the gift in Fitz's hand.
It was a small rectangular golden box with engraved hearts.
Sophie breathed in the smell of the clearing. Mossy, bright.
She loved nature- had always loved it.
She closed her eyes as she inhaled slowly.
Peace.
Then searing pain.
She screamed, trying to get out of the painful void.
But everywhere she looked, there was only darkness.
It made her want to look into the shadows.
Be taken by them.
Be stolen to a magical place.
Some of the pain was wearing off.
But then it relapsed.
A sharp pain shot through her chest.
Burning her heart.
She forced her eyes open.
A figure in a black cloak with a white eye on it was holding a melder.
The figure pulled back their hood.
Sophie's mind thought it was a lie.
Didn't want to believe it.
Because the person she was looking at-
he had some very familiar teal eyes and cutely tousled brown hair.
She forced a word through her pain.
"Fitz."
