The water catches the sunlight and reflects it back, glistening. High above the ocean waves, the seabirds flew, their white and gray feathers shining, their shrill calls barely audible above the sounds of the crashing waves. The sky reflects the deep blue of the sea, welcoming the sea birds and any other flying things. The shore was cut off abruptly by a large cliff sprouting out from the ground, where the seabirds nest. On top of the cliff, a figure stood, looking down at the water.
She whispers to the crashing waves below her, telling them her secrets. Behind her, someone watches her from the evergreen forest, wondering if she will jump, but hoping she wouldn't.
The girl sat down, legs hanging over the side of the cliff. The soft, green grass waves in the breeze, licking her blue jacket sleeves. The breeze lifted her russet hair, weaving it around her round face. Her blue eyes rise from the sea to the sky, and she smiles.
The watcher in the woods feels a little uneasy. His brown eyes flick from the girl to the sky for a split second. When he looks back at where the girl had been, the girl is gone. He ran to the cliff edge, looking for a broken body at the base of the cliff, but nothing was there. He looked around, confused, unaware of a nearly invisible figure just above his head, pausing in their flight to look at him before flying out to the ocean, the beautiful, blue ocean, and away. She would come back. She always did, and when she would look out at the ocean again, telling it her secrets, the watcher in the woods would watch her, wondering what secrets she had to share.
End.
