Alex has "explained" everything by now. Jo is still outside the door talking to Callie, and Levi is trying to put together the plates.
"You're a dumbass," I say
"Oh, wow. I didn't know." Alex said sarcastically.
"Listen, Jo is going to come back in here any minute and I really don't need her knowing that I talked to you."
"Well, then we have a problem."
"What are you talking about?"
"See, I'm kind of outside of the loft right now... in my car... and I can see you through the window, so hey." He said with a slight laugh.
I go over to the window, sure enough, there's Alex freaking Karev waving at me from his car, then I start yelling, "WHAT THE FUCK?"
"Woah, woah, woah, woah, calm down!"
"How am I supposed to calm down when you're outside and your ex-wife is here?" I say, still yelling. Then Levi clears his throat and nods over to the door where Jo is standing.
"What?" Jo says.
My eyes widen, "Jo, let me explain." Alex is talking gibberish over the phone, well at least that's what it sounds like.
"No. Who is outside? I swear to god, Amber-" Jo says with a slight shakiness in her voice.
"Jo, please just let me-"
"Who is outside?!"
"Alex! It's Alex. Alex is outside."
"W-what?" Jo said in disbelief.
"Jo, I'm sorry."
"You're kidding. You have got to be kidding." Jo said as she came over to look out the window.
"He told me that he came because he needed to apologize to both of us."
Jo teared up, "I don't need his apology. I've already healed. I've moved on. Tell him to leave."
Alex was still on the line spit firing questions.
"Alex, shut up. Jo, he's my brother, just because you don't want to see him doesn't mean I don't want to."
"Fine. You can see him but it can't be here. He's not welcome here." Jo said while folding her arms. My jaw dropped and I saw Levi's drop too out of the corner of my eye.
"I can't go home." I say, forgetting Alex is still on the line and can hear everything.
"Why not?"
"Jacob will get mad. He didn't even want me coming to this dinner party let alone bringing my brother home to sleep on our couch." I tell her.
"Why would be get mad about that?"
I stay silent and look at the ground then I see Levi's face of realization, "You didn't get that bruise from changing Brayden did you?"
I look over at Brayden who is still asleep then I look at Levi with tears in my eyes and shake my head. Jo realized now, "Oh, God."
"Please don't tell anyone. He'll kill me. Not figuratively." I plead.
"We can't just not tell anyone." Levi says.
"No we can't. We're gonna figure something else out. Just stay here." Jo says but then we see the door open and Alex walks in.
Jo doesn't even bother telling him to get out and he comes over to me, "Where do you live?"
"Why?" I ask.
"Where do you live?" Alex says repeating the question.
"Why do you want to know?" I ask. I forgot that he was on the phone with me and heard the whole conversation.
"Just tell me!" Alex urged.
"Don't do anything stupid, Alex." Jo warns.
"All I do is stupid things. Now Amber, where do you live?" Alex says.
"1227 NE 135th Street. Now will you tell me why you need it?" I say, still forgetting that he knows.
"You'll find out soon enough." He says while leaving.
"Alex!" Jo calls but he already left.
