I sat on the sofa and fiddled with my fingers. The scratches and bruises were indented in my hands. They were once full of light yet they now mirror the iniquity of society or maybe just my family. I rubbed my slushy hands while a pool of droplets formed on my skin. I had never felt this nervous.

I was lost in my thoughts as I stared at the wall unwary of my surroundings. Pictures set in rows of 4 gathered together on the wall. The light shone on a particular picture that stared into my soul. It was of someone that had seemed very familiar.

Elena? What is she doing there? I thought to myself as I picked at my fingernails anxiously. I tried hard to remember the girl who stood smiling in the picture but my head refused to listen.

Missing parts of my memory slowly started piecing together yet there was so much more. I only remember a certain period of my life and the rest was told by my father.

Author's POV

Jaerin's father was a rich CEO who was famous for his cosmetics company yet was known for embezzlement and fraud on the low-key. She doesn't really know her father that well either. He never really watched her grow up but he became a big part of her life since last year.

He had been involved in a few abuse cases but she had found out that he is part of a big organisation. Like a really big organisation.
You could possibly presume what organisation that is and it is pretty much visible to the people around her. She didn't act as though she was afraid because she had been living day in and day out of horror and resentment towards her father.

Jaerin's POV

I heard soft footsteps approaching me. The closer it got, the louder they became until they suddenly stopped. I whipped my head around to see Jaemin standing there. My eyes wondered around the room as I was immersed in the pictures.

Should I ask him about her?

Millions of questions flowed through my mind as I bit down on my lower lip. My unanswered questions and missing pieces of my memories bothered me.

Jaemin ripped me out of my pondering mind. "Pick a room. There's 12 room to pick from or you could sleep with me if you're not feeling too good about it." He shot a genuine smile.

"I'll just pick my own room then." I returned the smile as I skipped around the house with my dainty arms swung by my side.

I continued to walk up and down the corridor, in and out of rooms to see which was most preferable. The room on the far left hand side was the one I had picked after careful consideration. I slowly twisted the knob and saw everything sit in the room peacefully. Happiness illustrated on my face as I felt the cold summer air brush past my skin.

I spent the day in my newly accommodated room. The walls painted silk white and the cold wooden floor that sat beneath my feet. The double bed engulfed me in its warmth and a small smile lingered  on my face. I steadily got up and opened the window as I felt the cold summer breeze resting on my face as my hair brushed over my delicate features. Soft music playing on my speaker as I closed my eyes and inhaled the fresh air. Quiet giggles filled my room. This was the best my life had ever been.

I left the warmth of the bed to unpack my belongings. I had only bought a few necessary things that I may need like clothes, skincare, pads and toiletries.

After 2 hours of sorting out my things and rearranging the room, I threw myself onto the once warm bed. Chills ran down my spine forming goosebumps that spread around my arms and legs. My body slowly started to familiarise itself with the coldness until I was engulfed by the warmth once again.

I softly placed my head on my pillow and my eyes started to close as the comfort of the bed put me in a trance. The tranquility of the room bought sleep into my eyes and the once giggles replaced with snores. A small smile remained on my face as I hugged the sheets into deep sleep.

Donghyuck's POV

I had a long day ahead of me. Missions were already tiring enough and school assignments kept on liking up before me. The constant nagging from the teachers as well as Taeyong was too much to handle. All I could contemplate was sleep. The urge to throw myself against my soft covered and fall asleep to never wake up.

I took slow deep breaths as I dragged my lifeless body to my room. My back hunched as I dragged my feet across the floor. My head hung low as my drooping eyes started to close. I turned the door knob and saw someone peacefully sleeping on my bed.

Huh? Who the hell is that? I thought to myself as utter confusion ran through my mind.

I'll just wait for whoever that is to wake up and get out of my bed and fix my room. It looks prettier than before but I want my room the way it was before.

I gathered my clothes and walked into the shower as I heard quiet snores fill my room.
