Hinata watched the sly boy on the other side of his screen, confusion clouding his expression, "what do you mean, Kenma? I don't get it, don't we live, like, three stops away from each other, plus I have classes today? Also wouldn't it be rude to crash your hang out, especially when you're going out with some of your older friends who probably don't see you often?" Kenma laughed softly as he tied his hair up into a messy bun, humming in thought as the boy rambled,
"Nah, I actually think- no I'm sure they'll be pretty happy to see that I've been able to make new friends by myself. See, I wasn't exactly what you'd call a social butterfly. I was more like an antisocial moth or something dumb like that. " Hinata giggled at his comment as he pulled his sleeves over his hands, letting his fingers slip through the holes there.
Kenma took another look over what his ginger friend was wearing. He had khaki shorts that barely reached his half-thigh and were high waisted, and held up with some grey suspenders, as well as a cute greyish-green frog jacket over the top of a plain white top, the jacket had a cute frog face on the hood and the sleeves had attached (fingerless) gloves. He was also wearing knee-high white socks and green bulky trainers. The trainers had larger soles than necessary and they reminded him slightly of platform shoes. "What time do you have lunch today? And what time do you finish?"
The boy on the opposite side of the screen pushed his fingers through his golden orange locks, trying to fix the fluffy mess before thinking as he moved to sit down at his desk, "My lunch today is from twelve to two, and I finish my day at two fourty-five. Why?"
Kenma smiled softly, watching Hinata power up his computer, the screen painting the small boy with a white glow, before answering him, his attention flitting from Hinata's face and over his smaller body, that was hunched over in the chair, knees pulled up to his chin as his slim fingers started typing away. "Well, we're going to be meeting up at half twelve-ish so I'm sure we could meet up with you for your break. That way I can introduce you to everyone, and I get to see you in person!"
The smaller male typed on his computer, eyes focused but still keeping up conversation with Kenma, "I mean, we get to see each other next weekend. I'd love to meet your friends, but I don't want to intrude or anything like that. Plus, isn't today, like- one of your only days off, you should enjoy yourself!"
"I'd enjoy myself more if you were here, Shōyō. That's what I'm trying to get you to understand!" the ginger stilled for a moment before Kenma noticed the red tips of his ears.
"Um. Okay- Okay then. I can meet you guys at the Kitty Café? I can send you the postcode, if that's okay?" Hinata smiled softly when he noticed his friends happy smile.
"Yes! I'll definitely see you there, then. So don't let me forget to make a reservation." Hinata's ears were a bright red now, his cheeks also slightly flushed.
"Yea- okay. I definitely won't let you forget! Man~ I haven't made any new friends since you, Ken-Ken! And even though I've only known you a few months, it feels like we've been friends for years! Can you tell me about the people we're meeting up with, by any chance?"
Kenma dead-panned at the smaller boy, who's attention kept flickering between their conversation and his work. He took a few silent minutes as he looked over the boy and let his words settle, a small smile pulling at his lips. "Well, there's my all-time best friend, his name's Kuroo. He has constant bed head, but he's really smart- despite his attitude and the way he holds himself. He currently works in volleyball. He's actually in charge of setting up the national Japan team for the Olympics. He graduated college last year."
Hinata hummed in response to his friend as he checked the time and saved his thesis. A large, warm smile found it's way to the tangerines face, and Kenma couldn't help but to wonder how he changed his attitude so fast.
"He sounds super interesting! Who else?! Now I'm even more excited for my break." the faded, fake, blonde boy watched his friends smile and dimples, he couldn't help the warmth he felt brewing in his chest.
"Okay. Um- There's also Yaku. He's in his final year of college- I think he changed one of his courses and then decided to re-rake it 'cuz he just barely missed the cut off point for the job he wanted. He's actually dating Lev Haiba- the model. He'll probably be there too, just an Fyi. And then there's Bokuto- he's Kuroo's energetic boyfriend. He's not as smart as Kuroo, but they're really close and have been happily dating since- like- high school??"
The smaller boy listened happily- throwing in a few comments and excited noises that just happened to escape him. "You have some really well-known friends, Kenma! I feel like you're all wa~y outta my league! I guess it's really lucky I was able to be your friend."
Kenma watched the smaller boy print off his papers and shuffle around his room grabbing certain things needed for his day, while they conversed.
After another few minutes, Hinata threw his headphones on and plugged them into his phone as he picked up a lanyard and his tram-pass. "Okay- I'm headed to class! Don't forget the reservation at the café, Bye-bye Kenma~Chan!"
After he had said that he quickly hung up, covering his mouth in embarrassment. "Shit. Was that okay?! What if I made him uncomfortable, or something?!"
Kenma sat in his room, shocked for a second before he went red and grabbed his phone, his voice shakey, "That, was strange?"
