Chapter 20

Alec just laid on his bed looking at the ceiling when there was a knock on the door, a sigh escaped out of Alec's throat and he rolled his eyes.

"Come in," Alec muttered, still gazing up at the ceiling as he heard the door knob turn and clicked as the door to his room opened and then closed shut, "What do you want?" Alec growled, annoyed, not bothering to look up to see who entered his room.

" Are you done feeling sorry for yourself because your sister has a mate and you don't?" Brenton's voice filled Alec's room, "Your sister is worried about you ever since her and I became mates."

Alec sat up and glared at Brenton and growled, "Why the hell are you talking to me like that, I am your head fucking guard and that is no way you talk to your superiors like that."

"Oh, I thought I was talking to a child," Brenton barked back, sarcastically, "Not the head fucking guard of the Volturi who needs to realize that his sister is worried about her twin brother since he decided to try to lock himself in his room, oh I am so sorry for this misunderstanding." Alec jumped up from his lying position and landed on his feet inches to Brenton's face.

"Are you trying to provoke me?" Alec growled, glaring at Brenton with annoyance and anger, "because it is working."

"No," Brenton muttered under his breathe, "I want to have a conversation with you, Alec, that's all."

"I don't want to talk to you, Brenton," Alec hissed, glaring at Brenton, turning his hands into fists.

"Then listen," Brenton barked, "Listen to what I have to say then."

"Why should I listen to you," Alec growled, "You stole my sister away."

Brenton sighed and leaned on the door closing his eyes and then staring up at the ceiling. "I didn't steal her from you, Alec, you know better then that. Jane is still your sister and you still can protect her as you did before except the protection isn't all on you, we can protect your sister together. But, right now, she is worried about you and hurt by the fact that you don't open up to her even when I'm not there she feels as if you don't trust her anymore because she's with me. So please, still talk to your sister as you guys did before I showed up and entered your sister's life, so please don't abandon her." Then Brenton opened Alec's bedroom door and started to leave the room until he turned to look back at Alec, Brenton whispered "Don't do what I did," then left and closed the door behind him before Alec could say another word.
