Melanie's POV:

It has been a week since Harry came to visit me. We continued to send us messages. Today I admit that I do not know what to do, I am bored. I think there is nothing worse than boring, you want to do something, to keep busy but nothing helps, you do not know what to do. Maybe I should pull out my violin. Yes I play the violin since I was a child, but it must be two years that I did not touch it. I remember that my old roommate loved to listen to me play the violin, she had the same illness as me. Her name was Jessica Jones, a beautiful redhead with brown eyes, she was taller than me and she had a heart of gold. We were very close, we arrived at the same time in St Mary's. Unfortunately, she was less fortunate than I am, and she passed away three years ago, I think that is why I stopped playing the violin. Every year I visit him in the cemetery accompanied by Trudy.

I finally decide to take out the case of my violin which was neatly stored under my bed. I put it on this one and open it. Red velvet is still as bright as it was two years ago. I gently grasp the instrument and position it between my shoulder and my cheek and begins to compose one of my favorite songs, I do not remember the exact title, but it is a Celtic melody that provokes different feelings: melancholy, nostalgia, sadness, joy, zenitude and many others.

When I finished my piece, Dr. Wright and Trudy stood in the doorway and looked at me both stunned but also with a stern look on my face. It scares me a little because the last time they came to my room together was five years ago to tell me that my illness had gotten worse. I sit instantly on my bed.

Me: It got worse, didn't it?

Dr. Wright: Actually, no.

I look at him with an interrogative look.

Trudy: Don't worry, it's good news that we're here to tell you.

I immediately get relaxed.

Dr. Wright: With the medical community we have agreed that you can go to the University three days a week to start with, and then we will see if you have the ability to go full-time.

Me: Seriously!

Trudy: Yes but you can imagine that there are going to be rules.

Me: Yes of course! Tell me everything I'm ready for anything!

Dr. Wright: You will have to have your medication always on you and you will be equipped with a pager that will alert us immediately in case of problems. All your teachers and campus staff are aware of your situation, they will do what they can to help you when needed. If you're feeling weird or have anything different from usual, you'll have to let us know right away.

Me: Don't worry, when do I start?

Dr. Wright: On Monday, we will send you your schedule this afternoon. You'll go to class on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

Me: Thank you very much!

He gave me a simple nod but from Bob, it is already a lot! Trudy hugged me and went back to work.

I cannot believe it! I am finally going to be able to get out of this damn hospital to be independent, without doctors around me! It is an unexpected dream. I am at University College London (UCL) in order to be a midwife, I took the music option there. I cannot wait to finally get my feet there. It is Saturday today; it means I still have tomorrow to prepare! I still decide to open my wardrobe in order to find a nice outfit! In this University, there is no uniform, I just have to wear the UCL crest on the left side of the top that I will wear. I already have this crest because I follow the courses in videoconferencing, so they wanted me to wear it.

I search for about ten minutes in my closet and take out a short-sleeved white t-shirt, jeans, and a black blazer in case I get a little cold. I also come out of dark brown ankle boots and a black and grey bag with three beige stripes on the opening. I will pack my bag tomorrow. I take out my eyeglasses again, resting glasses certainly, but I still need them. I lay everything carefully on my desk and go to bed. I cannot wait to be on Monday !
