My name is Melanie Evans, I am 19 and I am studying at home because I have a heart disease. Indeed, my heart can stop beating at every moment, I run out of breath very quickly, I am on medical treatment in order to calm the ardor of my heart, but it does not cure me at all. The only possible solution to be able to live normally is the transplant. I have a rare blood type (AB-), it concerns 4% of the population, so it is difficult to find a compatible donor. So, I live at St Mary's Hospital in London and I am closely followed by Dr. Robert White, a man quite strict on the rules of fifty years, he is half bald and well fleshed, he looks like a big teddy bear. My nurse, Trudy Newman, is just adorable, she is my best friend, and it is true that outside the hospital I have no social life. When I leave it, it is always accompanied by a member of the medical staff as well as a wheelchair just in case I have a shortness of breath.
Tonight, is a big night, I am going to my first concert, that of my favorite band, One Direction. Trudy will accompany me because she knows that it was with her that I wanted to go there. It is already 2:30 p.m. and the concert starts at 8 p.m. I decide to take a shower and then I went in front of my closet where the only clothes I own are stored. My towel around my naked body, I literally froze in front of my closet when someone knocks on my door.
Me: Come in!
???: Hey ! Are you having fun making the statue?
Me: Very funny Trudy! I'm going to need you; I don't know what to wear!
Trudy: You know it's just a concert, right?
Me: It's not just a concert!!!! It's One Direction!!! And who says One Direction says Harry Styles!!
Trudy bursts out laughing and approaches my closet.
Trudy: I forgot that you really like the beautiful green-eyed Englishman. And since you will have your wheelchair you will be in the front row then I imagine you want to make yourself beautiful!
Me: That's it, now we understand each other!
She smiles at me and gives me a pretty black dress quite tight arriving above the knee with a V neckline. I put it on and started doing my make up: a dash of black liner, mascara, and lip balm, I leave my hair straight to stay natural.
Trudy: You're perfect my beautiful brunette!
Me: Thank you Trudy!
Trudy: Come on, we're going to sign the papers and we're going to put it all in the car.
We run and install everything in the car, which is the wheelchair, medication and even a defibrillator. I settle down on the passenger side and Trudy on the driver's side.
Trudy: Come on! Let's go to see your darling!
I giggle like an idiot and we go towards the stadium. After an hour and a half of driving we finally arrive. It is full of people! There are fans everywhere who scream like savages while the guys are not even there yet. Suddenly, I am afraid, afraid to panic and breathe too fast for my heart. Trudy understood my anxiousness and she came to stand next to me and she unfolded the wheelchair so I could sit on it. Then, we went to the entry for disabled people. A security guard is standing in front of us; he is super imposing with his black suit. He asked us for our tickets and proofs of people with disabilities. Trudy gave him everything and explained my situation, he smiled at us and wished us a good show.
We headed to the front of the stage we are very well placed!!! I feel like this night is going to be great!
The room fills up at a maddening speed. Minutes pass when suddenly the main lights go out to make way for the projectors. The screams ring out and we start to hear the tapping of fingers on a microphone. They are here!
The music began to pierce the hysterical screams of the fans, and the five boys appeared. It is so strange to see them in real life! But the one that particularly catches my attention is Harry. He is dressed in simple black jeans with a white short-sleeved t-shirt revealing his arm tattoos. They open the ball with Story of my Life, what is great is that they do not use autotune, it is pretty rare nowadays. We get to the middle of the concert and that is when the guys walk around and get closer to the front of the stage to try to communicate with their fans. I saw Harry coming in my direction, he looked in front of him and tried to see the faces of the fans, when he looked at me, he paused, he waved his hand and gave me his best smile which reveals his magnificent dimples. I gave back his smile with pride and he passed his hand through his curly hair and followed up with his solo What makes you beautiful. He was captivating, I could not get my eyes out of his. The concert continued and several times Harry would wave to me or smile at me. Finally came the song Little Things, I think it is my favorite among all the ones they recorded. I got up with difficulty and with Trudy's help from my wheelchair to fully enjoy this song, the guys were dispatched all over the stage and Harry was close to me. When the part where Liam was singing Harry looked at me, smiled at me, and then he said something I could not understand. I ask him with my eyes, he approaches his microphone with his mouth, and he says, "You're pretty", I cannot believe it! I look at him and say, "Is that true?" He nodded and rubbed his eye and that is when his solo began. Trudy looked at me like a proud mom to her child. I had a big smile on my face.
