Matter Of The Family

16 years later

it was a dark stormy night in Gotham as the rain came down three of joker's thug were standing outside a theme park gate as they spoke to each other, " where'd he get his name?" one asked, " who?" the other asked, " you know who? the joker. where'd he get his name?" the thugs shrugged his shoulders and said, "I dunno? the same place, batman got his? where you going?" he asked the third thug who heard something and began to walk towards the gate, " though I heard something" he replied as he walked towards the gate entrance, but as he got to the front someone from above took him out as thunder crashed in the sky.  " what was that?" a thug said as he and his friend began to walk towards the gate, " Hey, where's boogy?" the other asked as they saw boogy handing on the gate. then batgirl jumped out of the shadows and took out a thug as she landed on the ground. she then ran up to the other thug and kicked him away before using her grappling hook to pull him back to her as she knocked him to the ground and then slammed her foot down knocking him out as the thunder crashed again. 

batgirl then hid behind a rock as he clicked her earpiece, " jason, where are you?" she asked, " got your call? what's this about?" jason asked over the coms. " joker's got gordon" (Y/N) replied as a joker thug saw his crew knocked out and went to investigate, " maybe we should call bat-man, he'd be able-" jason started but (Y/N) cuts him off " no! joker specifically said he'd kill him if batman showed up. if anything happened to him, I will fail my mission." (Y/N) said as robin was hiding above her and watched as the thug got closer to her hiding place, " don't worry, (Y/N). we've got this." he said with a warms smile as he not ready to jump down and attack the thug, " how can you be sure?" (Y/N) asked as she turned around and saw the thug standing behind her, she was about to attack but then robin jumps down and attacked the thug as bullets went flying and hits the street lights around them before he knocked him out. Jason turns to (Y/N) and said with a flirty smile, " we'll for one. robin are good luck" he winks at her as she blushed before they saw some thugs coming through the entrance of the park ready to fight them as joker's voice came on the speakers as he said " welcome to the ranch, boys and girls! today is all about earning your wings. let's see if you can reuse Gotham's finest before it's too late. tic toc. tic toc. where's Gordy?" as batgirl was fighting a thug, robin finished off a thug before turning around to see a thug about to attack batgirl from behind, he runs up to him and jumped up and wrapped his legs around the thug's neck before throwing him to the ground as batgirl turned around after dealing with her thug. Jason got up and smiles before they both ran towards the remaining thugs, " come on you meatheads! get the sidekicks" Harley Quinn said on the speakers. 

batgirl grabs a thug and throws him in the air and she yelled out to robin, " robin, get him!" robin saw the thug and jumped in the air and kicked him in the face before landing on the ground, that was the last of them. they both stood there as they catch their breaths before Jason walked up to the park gate and tries to open it, but it wouldn't budge, " there's a terminal by the door." he said to batgirl, " what are you waiting for?" she said as she walked towards Jason, " I'll leave the hacking to the computer whiz" he said as he crossed his arms and leaned on the wall as he watched, " what did you say jay?" (Y/N) asked as she goes her hacking tool out, " you heard me " Jason said still with the grin on his face, " don't get cocky jay" (Y/N) replied as was hacking the door. Jason shrugged his shoulder as (Y/N) opens the gate and walks thought to come towards the edge of a  sky ride that was leading towards the park on the other side of the ocean overlooking Gotham. " let's do this." Jason said, " after you" (Y/N) replied before Jason grappled across the sky ride with (Y/N) following, as Jason landed on a sky ride box and asked, " hey (Y/N)? this place never opened did it?" (Y/N) landed on another sky ride box that was on the other side of the ride across from Jason and said " no, it didn't" " how come?" Jason asked as (Y/N) grappled to the next sky ride box with Jason following, " never got a permit. an oil baron built it for his five-year-old daughter. when she died, he disappeared and the project fell apart" " now the jokers turned it to his personal playpen." robin replied as he looked ahead and saw a sniper in the skybox, as batgirl landed next to him he grabs her and they both hid. 

" watch it batgirl, sniper," Jason said as they both look over their hiding place as robin out our his Batarang, " wait here, I'll take care of them," Jason said as he was ready to throw the Batarang but (Y/N) lowers his hand and said, " hang on robin, I've got it" she then got out her hacking device and shocked the thug knocking him out before continuing making their way to the park, " how'd you get so good with computers?" Jason asked, " books" (Y/N) replied, Jason smiles as he grappled towards the next skybox, " ahh... books... I've heard of those." " Jason" " yeah" " not now" (Y/N) said to Jason as he rolled his eyes and said, " fine". batgirl and Jason landed on a skybox as they both looked up and saw three thugs on a railing with a police officer, " they've got a hostage" Robin said as he grappled up to the railing and hanged onto the edge ready to take them out, " wait here. I'll take care of this" he said but before he could take the thugs out batgirl said, " easy cowboy, let's work together. I'll distract the sniper then we take down the henchmen" " sounds like a plan" Jason replied as batgirl throws a Batarang at a power box making the sniper turn around and walk towards it. she then grappled under the sniper before she said, " now". she jumped up and took out the sniper as Jason took out the two other thugs, one he dealt with them he got up and walked towards the hostage as he said, " that was easy" " this isn't over yet. focus robin" batgirl said as robin frees the officers, " always" he replied. 

meanwhile, joker was walking towards a balcony where he could see both Batgirl and robin as he was carrying a rocket launcher, he said " oh, see, it used to be simple. I blow things us. he shows up. starts all over again" back on the sky ride railing, batgirl helps the officer up as he said, "they ambushed us. we didn't see them coming. i don't know what he's planning but gordon ... he's in trouble..." " he'll be okay. i'll make sure of that" batgirl said as joker watched them before saying to himself, " now there's you two knuckleheads spoiling my game. my game! not funny" joker said as he aimed the rocket launcher at them and fired, batgirl hears the rocket coming towards them, " robin! RPG!" she yelled out as robin saw it and yelled out, " i see it! jump!" he grabbed the officer and grappled to safety as batgirl jumped off the railing as the rocket made the riling explode and crash into the ocean as batgirl glided to safety. she landed on the lower docks of the park, as she climbed up to the edge she hears a beeping noise in her ear peace and clicked it, " Batgirl? you okay?" robin replied, " i'm fine. just a few scratches. how's the hostage?" she asked. " a little shaken up, but he's okay. he says the joker ambushed them at GCPD, he's got other hostages" robin relied as he hears batgirl sigh as she tried to think of what to do next, " great. where are you?" she asked robin. " in the park, i'll wait for you here" he said but batgirl shakes her head, " no. I'll find high ground to scan for more hostages. you see if you can locate the joker." " will do, be careful (Y/N)" Jason said,  " you to Jason" she replied as she started grappling up to the top of the park. she got halfway up the tower, as she was walking up some stairs she hears Jason on her earpiece, " (Y/N/N)?" he said, " yeah" she replied but Jason shakes his head and said, " ... never mind.." " don't do that" (Y/N) said, "I can wait" Jason replied in a sweet tone, " you sure?" she asked him, " yeah, yeah. it's nothing. it can wait." (Y/N) nodded her head understanding him, " ok, watch yourself out there" she said in a kind tone, " ditto" robin replied. 

batgirl made it to the roof of the top of the park as Jason said, " (Y/N), I may have something here. I'm picking up traces of charcoal and potassium nitrate." " explosives?" she asked, " that's my guess" Jason replied as (Y/N) sighs " great. let me know what turns up?" she said as Jason nodded, " let's hope nothing," Jason said. (Y/N) stood on the roof of the tower that sat in the middle of the park as she got out her Batarang and throws it in the air as it scans around the park for more hostages, then Harley Quinn came on the coms and said, " you know something? I see you more like a bat lady than a batgirl. it's the way you carry yourself". (Y/N) sighs in frustration as she said, "I think some people are just born annoying" "I dunno. bat-lady, that could work" Jason said. " yeah two hundred years ago" batgirl replied, "I concur, my lady" Jason said in a posh voice, " do you?" (Y/N) said in a flirty voice, "I do" Jason replied, "I think we've been spending too many times at dad's galas" (Y/N) said making Jason laugh a little, " that's the Wayne life" Jason replied. (Y/N) finished scanning the part and catches her Batarang as it came back to her, once she placed it back in her belt she clicks her ear peace and said, " Jason, I've located the hostages, but I might be missing a few" " ok, I'm still following the trail" Jason replied. " good. I'll free them, you let me know what turns up, and be careful out there" she said to Jason with a warm smile, " will do" he replied as they both stated their mission to stop the joker.
