<-L's POV->

"Okay you three," my mom, D, said. "Since you three were such a big help in organizing all of the laundry as well as helping me bring it down, I'll let you guys get something. Here's $3. Use it wisely."

I took the money and put it in my purse. "Thank you, mom!"

I grabbed my brothers' wrists and pulled them to the aisle I wanted to go to. The one with all of the toys. Since we were at Kroger, we couldn't really buy Pokémon cards since they're easier to find at Target. Anyways, we looked around, but the whole aisle was so boring. None of the toys were for kids our age. We left the aisle and began exploring when I saw something that caught my eye. A vendor was selling teddy bears.

I grabbed A and J's shirt sleeves and tugged on them to get their attention. "Do you guys want to get a teddy bear for no reason whatsoever except to annoy mom with it and try and fit it on our beds with all of our other stuffed animals?"

Their eyes sparkled. "Heck yeah!" they said.

We walked over to the vendor and we got in line. After a bit, it was just us and another woman with her daughter. I walked up to the counter and pulled the $3 dollars out of my purse.

"Hi, um, how much does one teddy bear cost?" I asked.

"It costs $1 each," she said.

"Okay, can I have three teddy bears?" I asked, setting the money onto the counter.

"Yeah, sure!" she said, taking the money and putting it into the cash register. She picked up two teddy bears, one pink and one green. "Do you want pink or green?"

"She's a girl," the woman behind us said.

"Congratulations, do they want pink or green?" the vendor said.

"Green!" we all said at once.

She picked out three green teddy bears and handed one to each of us. As we walked away, the woman grabbed my arm and pulled me to the floor.

"What?!" I yelled.

"You're not supposed to be wearing an outfit like that nor pick a green teddy bear! Green is a boy colour, so is red and black. Girls should wear pink and purple and wear dresses," the woman said.

This pissed me off. I stood up and looked at her with an angry face. "Oh! So you're sexualizing colours and clothes now?! What are you going to do now?! Say that all wolves are boys and that all cats are girls?! That's f-cked up! I am not even a girl! I am questioning my gender at the moment and I'd appreciate it if you didn't call me a girl!"

I ran away, leaving the woman with her daughter, and ran over to my mom. I stopped and panted. I stood up straighter and showed my mom my teddy bear.

"What took you so long?" she asked.

"Some Karen was sexualizing colours and clothes and I just happened to be the one who she screeched at," I said.

"Oof," A and J said at the same time.

"All of this over a green teddy bear?" K, my sister, asked.

"I know, right!"

"Let's just go check out these other items," my mom said.

As we headed up to the checkout area, the woman came running over to me and started yelling at me again.

"I'm not done with you, young lady!" she yelled.

"For the last time! I! AM! QUESTIONING! MY! GENDER!" I yelled back.

"How dare you talk back to me!" the woman said, slapping my face.

My mom stood in front of me and protected me from the woman. "Don't hit my child! She did nothing wrong to you, so on what ground levels do you have the right to hit her!"

They started arguing and I couldn't handle it. I sunk down to the floor and covered my ears. I looked up at my mom and suddenly, a dark figure appeared next to her, looking exactly like her, except...meaner and more evil. It disappeared when a worker ran over to stop the two from causing an even bigger disturbance in the store.

"What is going on here?!" he said.

"Let me speak to your manager!" the Karen yelled.

"I am the manager," he said. "What's going on here?!"

"That little girl hit me!" the Karen said, pointing at me. "And her mom is trying to defend her for no reason!"

"No!" my mom said. "You had grabbed my child, yelled at her for wearing the outfit she was wearing and buying a green teddy bear, she told you that she was questioning her gender, she left to come over to me, and you came and screeched at her, then hit her for telling you that she is not a girl! I'm trying to protect her from getting hit again!"

"Is this true?" the manager asked, looking at me.

I stood up and wiped my face to stop the tears. "Yes, it is true."

"She's lying!" the Karen screeched.

"I'm going to go check the security cameras to see what happened, you both stay here," the manager said, leaving to go.

"Why do you Karens simp for the manager so much?" J said. "You should leave the poor managers alone!"

"Yeah!" K said.

"Shut up, you little brats!" the woman yelled.

The woman's daughter suddenly walked up to me. "I like your necklace!" she said.

"Aww, thank you!" I said, putting a hand over my lock necklace. Legitimately, I put a lock from an old notebook onto a chain, that's literally what I did.

"Give my daughter your necklace and I'll leave," the Karen said.

"No," I said sternly. I needed this necklace to protect not only myself but others around me. If this necklace comes off, my glitched self will come out and start killing everyone. I don't need my mom to know about my glitched self.

"Give it," the Karen said.

"No!" I said. "It's my necklace and I created it for myself and myself alone! Go get your own!"

"Hand over the stupid necklace! You don't need it!"

"Yes, I do! More than you will ever know!"

The manager came back and grabbed the Karen to stop her from stealing my necklace. "Miss, I'm going to have to ask you to leave before I call security."

"Ugh!" she yelled. "Stupid LGBTQ+ freak!"

"I'm lesbian and questioning my gender and I'm proud!" I called as she and her daughter left the store.

"I am terribly sorry about that woman," the manager said to me. "Is there anything I can do to make it up to you?"

"No, no, I'm fine, thanks," I said. "It's no big deal. I'm surprised this is only my first encounter with a homophobe."

"Alright then," he said. "Have a wonderful day!"

"You too!" my mom called back as he left. "Alright, let's go pay for these groceries, and then we can finally go home!"

As we headed towards the check-out again, I couldn't stop thinking about that black figure. Who was that? Why did it look like Mom? And why does it remind me of the nightmare animatronics from FNAF 4?

So I started this story on DeviantArt, but since not a lot of people use or have DeviantArt, I thought it would be fun to share it here on Wattpad! Also because I made a reading list for The Creators, which includes every single story in the series, and once I finish The Creators main series (The Creators: The Glitched Timelines, The Creators: The Glitched Artwork, The Creators: The Glitched Menu, and The Creators: The Glitched World) I am going to be working on side stories that are still important to the plot and I'd like to share this side story.

So yeah. Hope you like it!
