chapter 5

i'm going to start writing in lowercase bc i'm now typing on my phone instead of my computer

it was now monday, and the weekend had just ended. y/n was walking to school, earbuds playing music while looking around. as she continued walking, she came across a park, with bright green grass and a flower bed on the side. she checked the time, seeing she had more than enough time, took out her earbuds, and started walking towards the flowers.

as she got there, she crouched down to look at the flowers, bright colors being shown. the roses were red, the lilies were pink and white, and the daffodils were yellow. she became memorized by the flowers, forgetting about everything else for a second. that was until someone came by her and also crouched down.

"pretty flowers, aren't they?" asked the stranger. y/n hadn't looked up yet, still mesmerized by the flowers.

"yeah, they sure are."

y/n didn't look up until she saw the flower she had been looking at for some time now was ripped out from the soil. her eyes followed the flower that was in the strangers hand, finally looking up to meet their eyes.

"a pretty flower for a pretty lady." smiled the boy, showing kindness and warmth.

the girl frowned a little, feeling bad for the flower that had been taken from its roots and destroyed by the boy. noticing this, he said, "i actually take care of these flowers. something i do to pass time, and also because i like to do it. taking one flower won't hurt anyone."

the girl's frown gave up a little, still feeling bad for the flower in his hand. the boy gave the flower to the girl, and y/n took it to adore even more.

"the name's haru suzuki. and yours?"

"y/n l/n. nice to meet you." and she looked up giving the newly met boy a bright smile. he was taken aback a little, yet didn't show it on his face.

the two sat in silent as y/n kept on looking at the flower and taking in every detail, suzuki just watching her do so. just before suzuki was going to say something, y/n stood straight up, making the boy surprised. she checked the time, seeing she only had a few minutes left until class started. she then looked down at the boy, who was still surprised from the sudden movement.

"sorry, i've got to go to school now. it was a pleasure meeting you. oh, and thanks for the flower. i hope to see you soon!" and before the boy could respond, the girl started to speed walk out of the park and to her school.

the two didn't know if they would ever get to see each other, but they felt they would. suzuki soon stood up and started walking to his school.

however, the two would soon figure out that they would meet again, and quite quickly in fact, in a place they didn't think they would.

both were heading towards inarizaki high school.
