Shivering through the strong, late-night chill with Buff's phone in my jeans pocket, I managed as best as I could while wandering through the parking lot for a half hour. I'd had to tell campus security that I'd needed to clear my head after driving by to question my whereabouts. I debated whether I should go back inside Peterson Hall to warm up. If only I could see Jerrick or even Twunky.
I sighed. Twunky. I still couldn't believe he had feelings for me. Was he actually in love with me? Was it just a big crush? How did I feel? He was beyond hot and always so friendly and easy to get along with. But was I ready for something exclusive? Well, assuming that was what he wanted.
But Buff. Ugh, I couldn't get him off my mind. What a scary tool he'd turned out to be. I now wondered if it'd been a stupid move on my part to have stolen his phone. What if he reported me and I was searched? At the same time, I really needed to delete that video. I didn't trust that he wouldn't edit it somehow to frame me as a rapist.
An SUV pulled over to my left side, and I instantly recognized it. The passenger window rolled down, and there was Jerrick right there with Twunky in the driver's seat. I'd never imagined they'd be together looking for me.
"It's really cold out," Twunky said in a concerned tone. "Want to camp out in here instead? The three of us?"
That actually sounded like a great idea. I didn't know where else to sleep since I really didn't want to go back to Buff. "Sure, I have nowhere else to go."
"Hop in."
I opened the side door and rushed inside. I closed the door and sat on the laid-out backseat while Twunky slowly drove off. Several blankets were here this time, but the heater was on. I blew a big breath. "What's Buff doing right now?"
"Throwing a rage fit and taking it out on the other Peters," Twunky said. "I had to calm him down and tell him I'd look for you."
"Yeah, Twunky told me it's pretty bad," Jerrick said.
"Yeah, he went total psycho, and I'm honestly worried. He scares me sometimes."
"He scares me too and I hardly know him," Jerrick said. "Twunky and I bumped into each other in the lobby since I couldn't sleep. I took a shower and just hung out alone by the TV until he saw me and asked if I wanted to come find you."
"Well, I really appreciate that, guys. Thanks." Now that I had Buff's phone, I wasn't afraid to tell them the truth. Well, maybe not the whole story. "Just so you know, me and Buff really aren't together. It was an act."
"I did wonder since it seemed so fast and random," Twunky said as he parked the SUV in the parking lot of the residence hall. There was a tiny bit of illumination from the outdoor lamps around us.
I lowered my eyebrows. "We can camp here? Wouldn't campus security get suspicious as to why we're hanging out in here?"
"Nah, it's fine. I've camped out here alone whenever I needed my own space." Twunky got out of the driver's seat and crawled through the middle to reach me, followed by Jerrick. Twunky turned the portable heater on, and he sat down on my left while Jerrick sat down on my right.
"I showered too," Twunky said.
I shrugged. "I...didn't. Well, not after I fucked Buff. Didn't really think about it since it was a long and wild night."
"Yeah, I can kind of smell Buff's ass on your face." Twunky grinned.
Jerrick chuckled but didn't say a word.
"Hey, it was tasty at least," I said unapologetically.
"Oh, I know. I've eaten it plenty of times. Great ass."
