"Hey. Is there any more coffee left?" George said, stumbling down the stairs. His voice was still groggy from sleep.
"Yeah, I'll grab you a cup." Dream smiled at George, reaching for a cabinet. George's stomach did flips when Dream smiled at him. God, his smile is cute. George shook his head. "No."
He hadn't realized he said that out loud until Dream looked back at him. "No, you don't want coffee?"
George blanched. "Yes, I want coffee. Sorry, I don't know why I said that. Sorry.." George did indeed know why he said that though. He was having feelings for Dream, ones that would never be returned. He couldn't like his best friend, it would be wrong. Taboo.
Dream's expression softened. "It's okay. Are you alright? You look feverish," He approached George, setting a cool hand on his forehead, then his flushed cheek. George's blush deepened as Dream's hand left his skin. "You're not warm. Are you blushing, Gogy?"
George shook his head vigorously. "No, of course not. Can I have my coffee now?" George asked, hastily changing the subject. Dream smirked as he turned back to the coffee pot.
"Anyways, I was thinking we could do something today?" Dream asked over his shoulder.
George sat down at the kitchen island. "Anything specific?"
"Yeah, actually. I ordered a package last night, it should arrive later today. I was thinking we could have a picnic this evening?"
"Ooh, sounds fun! We could make sandwiches and bake cookies to take with us!" George said, laughing.
"Alright then! Lets eat some breakfast, then go to the grocery store." Dream smiled at George again.

Dream and George approached the entrance of the supermarket.
"Lemme get a cart," Dream said, darting over to grab one.
George tugged on Dream's hoodie. "Can I wide in da cawt, pwease?" He said in a baby voice.
Dream chuckled, shaking his head. "Nah, walk on your own two feet."
"Awe, fine." George pouted. "Anyways, what are we looking for?" He asked, straightening up.
"Cookie ingredients, sandwich stuff, and snacks. I have bread, lettuce, flour and sugar at home." Dream responded.
"Cool, ok." George smiled at Dream.
The two went up and down all the isles, filling their cart with cookie ingredients, sandwich fillings, and snacks. They hauled their purchases out to the car and heaved it into the trunk. Dream climbed into the car, inserting his keys into the ignition.
"We bought a lot of stuff," Dream told George, laughing.
"How much did it cost?" George asked.
"Around $250."
"Oh geez, just for one day. I'll send you half." George offered, giggling.
Dream smiled at his generosity. "Nah, it's fine." Dream and George drove home, singing along to the radio at the top of their lungs.
***
George pulled a chocolate chip cookie recipe on his phone. "This one looks easy enough!"
Dream looked over his shoulder. "Yep, sounds good. I'll get the dry ingredients. Can you grab the eggs, milk, and butter?"
"Sure," George nodded, moving towards the fridge. He set all the ingredients on the counter, then started putting the groceries in the fridge whilst he waited for Dream to get the rest of the ingredients.
"Alright then," said Dream, looking at the recipe. "Cream together sugar and butter in a large bowl."
George grabbed the bowl and placed the butter inside.
"I don't have a mixer, maybe we could use a potato masher?" Dream inquired, pulling a drawer open.
"Sounds good to me," George agreed, pouring in the sugar.
By the time the cookie dough was ready to go into the oven, George and Dream's hands were sticky with dough, and the countertop was covered in flour and sugar.
"I suppose we should put them in the oven, then clean up?" George asked.
"Yeah. Cleaning up won't be as fun.." Dream said, trailing off.
"Anyways, lets get started!" George, buoyant as always, flitted about the kitchen, loading the dishwasher and cleaning the countertops.
About 10 minutes later, the kitchen was sparkling and the smell of cookies wafted about the house. Dream grabbed a cookie off the tray, too excited for it to cool.
"Ow!" He yelled, jumping back.
George giggled. "What did you expect, they just came out of the oven!"
"Yeah, I know. But I wanted a cookie." Dream pouted. He looked at the clock. They needed to be in the car by 6:00pm for his plan to work, the clock read 5:02 pm. "Oh we need to hurry up. We're leaving in an hour, and we still need to get sandwiches and such!"
"Why an hour?" George asked, curious.
"I have a plan, and it's a surprise." Dream responded, smirking.
"Alright, fine. I'll stop asking," George sighed.
Dream chuckled. "Do you want to make the sandwiches, or do you want to get the blankets and stuff?"
"I'll make the sandwiches. I don't know where you keep blankets anyways." George said, reaching for the fridge to get sandwich ingredients.
"Alright then." Dream jogged up the stairs.
