Suspicion Part 1

Hermione's POV:

I was a bit suspicious when they knew absolutely nothing about our world. My suspicion grew at the Sorting Ceremony. The sorting hat practically cried when it went through Annabeth and Percy's memories. I wonder why. When it was sorting the emo kid, it was crying. I mean what could be so bad in an 18 year old's life! Even with all the horrors in Harry's life, the Sorting Hat never reacted like that. And that's saying something. Throughout the feast and sorting, I didn't see Snape, Malfoy or Luna. I can understand Malfoy and Snape but where was Luna? On top of all that, the exchange students get their own soundproof dormitories.

I hadn't taken too many extra subjects. Just Greek & Latin, Basic Muggle Weapons and Ancient Runes. Ancient Runes was my favorite subject. Greek & Latin was a newer subject, but I have a fairly big interest in Greek Mythology. Why not learn the language too? I was still pondering when I heard Harry and Ron call out to me.

" Hermione ! " they called in unison

" Hi guys " I replied

They looked around for a second before answering

"Sorry about that. We needed to make sure the ES weren't here." Ron said

" ES? " I asked

" Exchange Students " Harry answered'

"Did you find anything on them?" I asked

Ron nodded. " I got a glimpse of a black tattoo on Percy, Jason, Frank, Hazel, Nico, and Reyna. They cast a spell so the sleeve wouldn't fall again almost immediately. Why would they want to hide their tattoo unless they were Death Eaters."

" I agree. But we shouldn't confront them just yet. Let's see what they do " I replied. This theory made sense. I could see how they all could have been essential to Voldemort's army. But I do wonder why only six of them have the tattoo. Maybe the others are newer members. But that doesn't make sense. Percy and Annabeth look like they go back farther than all of them. Maybe I read them wrong?

I was so excited. Classes started today. I only had three classes today. A double period for History Of Magic with Hufflepuff, Potions with Slytherin (/^_ ^\) and Ancient Runes with Ravenclaw. Not bad. I walked over to my friends at the Gryffindor table.

" Bummer. First day back and we have to deal with Snape straight away. Haven't Seen him since the feast, before the Exchange Students got sorted. Hope we get a substitute." Ron was saying

" Me too. Sorry to burst your bubble Ronald, but I just saw Snape walking down the hallway" I said

Everyone lost their happiness. Then, I heard chatting in a different language. I saw Percy and his friends all laughing and talking, like one big family. I wonder what language they were talking in? I looked over to see everyone else questioning the same thing.

Percy was laughing when he said " Really.. You.. Reyna.... Of all people... You could have never)"

"Sorry Percy, but that was Reyna. I saw her do it" Annabeth confirmed

" Wait when did you.... Oh.. I thought I heard something " Reyna said

Percy was in shock. Then he was laughing again.

Those exchange student's were weird. And I was going to find out why.
