Roman had just finished trying on suits, they were all good looking and comfortable, but something was off about them.
Maybe it was the whole marrying a stranger, but in any other situation he'd just settle into it, just submit to his fate, but he didn't want to.
To be trapped, to be kept and held in one place.
He started walking quickly to his room, to get changed.
If he was going outside, he may as well be more comfortable than his princely outfit.
He dashed through the door, going to his wardrobe, grabbing a pair of comfortable blue shorts and a white shirt and blue hoodie.
He grabbed a pair of white trainers with red laces and put the clothes on.
After of which, he rushed to the gardens to see Virgil.
He was running now, full of excitement, happy that Virgil had offered, and possibly knew a way out.
"Hey!" Virgil shouted, waving Roman over.
He was stunning, black jeans and a slightly patched up hoodie, with a dull purple t-shirt. His hair was fluffy and soft looking.
His eyes stuck out like jewels, glittering in the setting sun, a big smile on his face.
"Hi... so... where are... we going?" Roman said in between short exhausted breathes.
"Well, I kinda ruled out the restaurant, sorry, but we can just go around town, there's tons of stuff to do."
"Is it because I won't know how to act?"
"That's not what I-"
"Don't worry about it." Roman said with a smile, Virgil always made sure that he didn't make Roman feel bad, sometimes it went overboard, but it was appreciated.
"Sooo, how we getting out?" Roman asked.
"You know that we can literally just leave through the front door, right?" Virgil asked, an amused smile on his face.
"Aren't ther-"
"They don't patrol during the night, I mean, I don't blame them, who would want to break into here? It's a fucking maze, anyway, I'm me, and can just tell them that I was told I was allowed."
"I- I never thought of that." Roman said, he had genuinely never thought of how easy it'd be, he knew that there were guards at day, but he'd never checked at night, it wasn't important.
"Let's go?"
"Yeah!" Roman said, threading his arm through Virgil's.
They quietly walked through the halls, it felt as if the castle were empty, it was calming, he felt like he wasn't being constantly watched.
They just walked out of the doors and left through the gates, it was very smooth sailing.
They walked through town, popping in and out of multiple shops, they ended up finding themselves in book shops most of the time.
Roman just looking at the wide variety of books that were in his reach.
The whole time Roman felt a ticking feeling of deja vu, like he had been here before, though he certainly hadn't.
The two ended up buying a few (twelve) books, they walked through the store like a lovey dovey couple. In fact they had been mistaken for one multiple times, it wasn't something that was outright said, but Roman noticed.
He didn't mind it, the fact that people though they were a couple only meant two things, 1. They were close enough that it was mistakable 2. They acted like a couple (which Roman wouldn't deny it, they did flirt a lot).
