I frowned when I appeared outside of the gates to Malfoy Manor. Then replaced the frown with blank expression. Mom said I had to accept them, but that was going to take a bit.
I walked up to the gates. Just as I was about to walk through them, they opened on their own. I shouldn't have been surprised, we were wizards after all. But I was surprised because they were rumored to only open for Malfoys.
Well, I suppose I am a Malfoy. I walked up the long pathway, passing several white peacocks as I did, and stopped at the door.
My hand reached up to knock. The very second my knuckle touched the door, it was pulled open by none other than Lucius Malfoy himself.
"Good evening Ginny."
"Good evening Mr. Malfoy."
He raised an eyebrow at my choice of words. It was going to be a very, very, long time before I called him anything other than Mr. Malfoy or Lucius.
"You may call me Father, if you wish."
It was my turn to raise a brow. He already expected me to call him the name I would call a parent? Given, he was my father, I would not be calling him anything more than Mr. Malfoy. Maybe I'd call him Lucius.
Lucius looked to me again and asked, "Would you like to come in?"
I huffed, but replied anyway. Mum had said to be kind.
"That'd be great, thanks."
I knew he detected the sarcasm in my voice, but decided to say nothing on the matter.
He stepped to the side slightly, just enough to allow me passage through. I walked past him and into the living room. It looked just as fancy (if not more) as Harry had described it.
I shivered. The manor was huge, fancy, and cold. Not physically cold, just bone chilling. I was honesty expecting it to feel foreign. It kind of did, but also felt safe. I assumed the reason I felt safe was because you couldn't come into the manor unless you were a Malfoy, or given permission.
"So," I questioned. "Where is my room?" I looked around the room like I was expecting a glowing sign that said, 'Ginny's Room', obviously, there wasn't.
"So, the Weaslette returns."
I whip around at the familiar jab. I see the smirk on his face and have the urge to slap him. But, I promised Mum I'd be civil. So instead I sneered back.
"Malfoy." My voice was dripping in hatred.
All he did was smirk wider, if that's even possible, and replied.
"We are siblings you know, so maybe we should drop the whole last name thing."I laughed at that, first names are for friends- Malfoy did not qualify as that. I told him just that.
"First of all, half siblings. And second of all, Malfoy, I'll be sticking to last names thanks."
He rolled his eyes at my stubborness. I heard a throat being cleared behind me. I turned around about to snap at whoever it was, but stopped when I realized it was only Lucius.
"Ginny, Draco will show you to your room."
I let out a sound of disgust, but followed Malfoy anyway. We walked down the hall in silence for a few moments until we reached a door. It looked like every other door in this house, so there was no way I'd be able to find it again.
Malfoy turned the knob and opened the door. The room, which was more the size a small flat, was huge. However, to my disappointment, it had green instead of red, for the color theme. It was all dark green and dark brown with silver accents.
The bed had a dark green comforter, and the frame was a dark stained wood. The curtains were an extremely dark green, with silver trim. I rolled my eyes. This was so very obviously a Slytherin home.
I could be a rebel and make everything red and gold, but I decided that would go against Mum's 'Be nice'.
I could rebel in another way though.
I turned around to face Malfoy. "You can go now, Malfoy, I'm in my room."
All he did was sneer and tell me to be down for dinner.
------------—————————----------------———Again, I'm sorry for the short chapter. I would really appreciate if you guys could leave some comments telling me how to improve, thx!
