"Stupid arseholes," muttered Rosie as she stomped up the stairs to Gryffindor Tower. "Look at my tits, why don't you? That's why they're there, for your personal pleasure-" Her rant was interrupted as she turned a corner and promptly ran into someone.
"Godric, I am so sorry," said the person, their voice heavy with an American accent as they grabbed Rosie's shoulders to prevent her from falling down the stairs. "Are you alright?"
Rosie was at a loss for words. Her dark eyes met dark, and she was faced with one of the most beautiful girls she had ever seen. Her dark curls piled on top of her head in a loose bun, her deep brown eyes looking into Rosie's with concern.
"You almost just died there," said the girl with a chuckle.
" -Yeah, I did." Rosie mentally slapped herself. "There's a certain amount of times that it happens before you don't really get freaked out anymore."
The girl laughed, a genuine laugh, which shocked Rosie since she was basically a drooling mess at the moment.
"You're Rosie, right? I'm Constance. Call me Connie."
"Ravenclaw?" asked Rosie, gesturing to her tie.
"Yeah, fifth year."
"Oh," realized Rosie. "Why aren't you at the feast?"
"Ehh," Connie shrugged. "I ate on the train, and I had a feeling I had to save a pretty girl from certain death."
"My princess in shining armor," smirked Rosie.
The two girls laughed and bantered, and Rosie was shocked she had never met this girl before. She was captivating.
"Anyways, I'm so over this back to school bullshit. Want to get high?"
Rosie scoffed. "Always."
"Come on!" Connie grabbed her hand and they ran off.
"Jesus, I shouldn't be able to run that much," laughed Rosie, panting as they stopped in front of a large statue of an eagle.
"I speak without a mouth and hear without ears. I have no body, but I come alive with wind. What am I?" asked the statue.
Connie pursed her lips and tugged at her tie.
"Wind, wind... oh!" Rosie looked over, surprised she had finished it so fast. "An echo, obviously."
"It's that obvious?"
"Oh, hush," Connie grinned and pulled Rosie into the Ravenclaw common room.
"Wow." The Ravenclaws had it lucky. This room was beautiful. It was a circular room, bookcases lining the wall. Dark blue settees were placed around the room, and many small wooden tables were visible. Curtains filtered the moonlight, causing the whole room to have an under-the-sea glow. The ceiling seemed to be enchanted, like the Great Hall, since constellations shone with actual starlight.
"I know, right? Trips are awesome in here." Connie sighed and smiled at the entranced Gryffindor. "Hurry, the little firsties will be back soon enough." They climbed the spiraling staircases, stopping in front of a blue door with a sign that read: Bell, Chang, Edgecomb.
The room was just as elegant as the common room. While everything Gryffindor radiated warmth, everything Ravenclaw seemed to be about nighttime. The dorm room seemed to say: this is a castle and this is the rebellious princesses room.
Posters decorated the stone walls, magazines and books stacked in haphazardous piles. It didn't escape Rosie that the bed Connie was rustling under had a rainbow pin clipped onto the curtains.
