Hey yall sorry for the slow updates! I am still studying a lot and I play a college sport so it's hard to get around to a ton of writing at once. Expect a ton of new chapters on saturday, 3/27 (North american time)!

Now time for your cute baking date with Yuji!

"So, have you ever baked before?" Yuji asked, tossing a big bag of flour on the counter as he turned to look at me.

"I uh, I have but I'm not amazing." I said almost shyly. It was my first date with Yuji, and the energetic boy came off as insanely adorable to me. When we set up our first date with a plan to bake cupcakes, I couldn't wait to see how sweet he was with me alone.

Maybe it was my fault for always being in my head. For always being nervous about how things would end up with a guy. I always gave the benefit of the doubt, but it seemed like no one could treat me right and my relationships would always end in heartbreak. Maybe I was just looking for someone to turn that around...

I was cut off from my thinking from Yuji poking at my arm as if I was a corpse. "Hello~~ Earth to Y/N? Are you okay?"

"Oh, yeah." I mentioned back, tossing my hands up in an apologetic tone. "I'm sorry, I was just thinking. What did you say?"

"I asked if you wanted to add anything to the cupcakes. Chocolate chips, Jam, stuff like that." He said, putting the ingredients list down on the counter.

I smiled warmly to him, watching as he prepared for this task. "How about sprinkles?"

"Aah!" Yuji turned, his eyes going wide as he gripped his hands onto my shoulders, rocking me back and forth. "That's the perfect idea, Y/N! You're so smart!"

My face went red at his touch, and my body shyly tensed at his words. "R-really? For suggesting sprinkles?"

Yuji's eyes filled with concern, keeping his hold on you as he relaxed in his own stance. "Yeah. Is something wrong?"

"No, it's just," I looked away nervously, but honestly I only looked away to get a view at anything besides his concerned eyes. He looked like a sad puppy, and seeing that probably would just make me feel worse about making him nervous. "I'm never really called 'smart'."

"Are you kidding? Besides the cupcakes, you're like, overall smarter than Fushiguro." He mentioned, stepping back to put a finger on his chin in thought as you blushed.

"I guess that's why I need you around!" He said, tossing a thumbs up as his face flushed with color. For a moment I felt my heart jump out of its chest, the warm feeling overtaking me as I grinned back widely. Butterflies in my stomach, dizziness in my head, I had never felt this way before. Was this what a date was supposed to feel like?

Watching as he giggled, I held my hands together close to my chest as I watched his cute method of flirting. "I bet. Come on, let's make some yummy cupcakes." I responded.

"Yeah," He agreed, turning to read the first step of directions. We started making the cake batter, taking turns adding ingredients to the bowl.

With the raw batter in front of us and the oven nearly open to temperature, I leaned over to peak at the baking time. "Let's see, 18 min-" I was cut off from my words as a pale finger passed my eye, a cool feeling left on my nose as I stepped back and crossed my eyes to try to catch a glimpse of the substance.

Yuji laughed, reaching over to grab his own stomach as he watched me dip my own finger on the batter that was now on my nose. "You didn't even see me coming!"

I smiled, wiping it off and tasting the sweet, raw batter with a smile of comfort as I hummed at how enjoyable it was.

"Ah- hey, you missed some." Yuji exclaimed, reaching over to stare directly at my face as he swiped his finger across my nose. He was awfully close, blush flying over my face as he licked the batter off his own finger. He looked down, seeing me flustered from the situation, and also grew red. Chuckling to himself, he glanced away to try to hide his flushed face. "Good thing it tastes delicious!"

"Not the only thing you are thinking is delicious right now."

Silence filled the room for a moment, my face growing confused from the unknown tone of voice that seemed to come from Itadori. He instantly slapped the left side of his face, his face as red as a tomato as he continuously whispered, "Shut up! Not right now!"

"Are you okay?" I asked, tilting my head.

He sighed, removing his hand from his face as he looked at the ground in disappointment. "Yeah, yeah...I'm sorry about that, it was just Su-"

"It's okay." I smiled warmly, watching as he looked up at me hopefully. "We don't have to talk about it, he's gone now, right?"

He straightened his posture, putting on a hopeful face as he nodded. "You're right. We won't let him ruin this. I'm having a lot of fun with you Y/N. I'm glad I get to do this with the girl I like..."

It still seemed impossible, even though the words had just left his mouth. "Really?"

Itadori nodded furiously at the question, looking directly at you as he watched your face fill with doubt. "I wouldn't say it if it wasn't true."

I grew quiet, the memories of all the past jerks that said they cared about me slowly being overtaken by a new feeling of hope. I felt the sadness that used to lodge itself deep in my chest relieve itself, a tear falling from my eye as I felt Yuji pull me into an embrace. For a moment, I wondered if I should try to fight it, try to ask why he did such a thing so suddenly. But I felt so weak, and Itadori's touch felt like the one good thing to ever happen to me; I turned myself even deeper into his embrace and tightened my fists on the sleeves of his shirt, stuffing my face into the clothing.

I felt a hand across my back, leaving itself there as if just to remind me that I wasn't going anywhere. I had never had this before. Other guys were so rude, other guys didn't care...

"Thank you..." I said quietly, holding back tears as Yuji lightly pulled himself back from me just enough to see my face. He swiped a thumb across my cheek where a tear had stopped its trail, smiling.

"What are you thanking me for? We are gonna finish these cupcakes, right? Come on, let's enjoy ourselves." He said, turning to the oven to pull out the tray of hot cupcakes and moved to grab the bag of frosting.

"Yeah," I nodded, taking a breath as I watched him go straight back to focusing on the cupcakes.

There's no one sweeter than him, I thought with a goofy smile on my face.
