Daring Charming, son of King Charming, is in distress. He knows that he shouldn't be. He knows that distressing was meant for girls. For damsels.
But alas! It seemed like destiny played a trick on him.
Laying down in front of a tree was a glass casket lying diagonally against it. And in that very same casket was Apple White, daughter of Snow White.
And she's already cursed. The Forever After Sleep.
Seems like their story was executed way too early.
But 'their' wasn't the correct pronoun to use.
They were still in high school, but Daring already knows that he is the story's hero. Apple's prince charming.
Or, at least, he knew he was.
He tried, but he wasn't cut out for it.
Daring's kiss did not work. Because if it did, they would all be in battle now. Fighting against the Evil Queen, the new self-proclaimed head of their school. Ever After High.
But instead, a few members of the student body were down there, at a secluded part of the Enchanted Forest. Mourning over their currently fallen friend, and supposed future leader.
A few didn't make it. They were all stuck, trapped at the now flying school situated at the clouds. Their exits are nearly blocked by twisted vines. Their only way out is by falling. The safest was by climbing down Jillian Beanstalk's, daughter of Jack Beanstalk, beanstalk.
After an unfinished heart-felt speech made by Raven Queen, the daughter of the Evil Queen, the supposed villain fled the premises. Suddenly shocking them with the Queen's announcement that Raven will be joining her and spread evil all throughout the realms.
Daring was now standing there, beside Melody Piper, daughter of the Pied Piper.
The white and purple haired girl was seated on a rock, putting up a playlist for their fallen future queen.
"Oh yes! This is what feelings sound like!" Daring exclaimed dramatically, still thinking that it was his fault why Apple is still part dead.
That was until Darling Charming, his younger sister, pulled him to the side.
"Hey! What the hex?!" he spoke glumly. "Can't you see I'm trying to wallow?" he pouted.
"All this pouting," Darling gestured at him. "Not a good look on you."
Daring can definitely tell that his sister was disappointed of him.
But who doesn't?
That was from his point of view.
Darling crossed her arms. "It's time to turn the page, brother," she said, hoping that it will knock some sense to him.
"Oh! That's easy for you to say!" Daring scoffed. "Don't you see? I just lost my destiny!"
He saw Darling roll her eyes at him and his actions, but he just ignored it.
"I'm not Apple's Prince Charming!" he continued, laying a hand on his sister's shoulder.
Darling swatted his hand off of her shoulder and placed her hand on her hip. "And I'm not a damsel in distress!"
That was true. Darling wasn't a damsel. She just proved it when she revealed to everyone that she was the person under the White Knight of Wonderland's suit of armor.
"Some of us aren't going to follow our original destinies!" Darling continued, standing up straight.
That was also true. With the Royal VS. Rebel conflict that Raven herself began, and with Raven and Apple both agreeing on destroying the Storybook of Legends for good, it is safe to stick to that.
