After the Nine Tailed attack the leadership began to suspect that the Uchiha were behind the attack due to the Sharingan's ability to control the beast. The Uchiha were placed under close surveillance by forcing all Uchiha to live in one section of the village.
Danzo however did not believe negotiations would solve anything and felt eliminating all the Uchiha would cause the least bloodshed. Danzo aware of Sasuke's want for power and the curse mark on his neck and would use that in his favor. "Sasuke I have a favor to ask you" Danzo said walking up to him. "What is it Danzo" Sasuke asked. "Well you want power right" Danzo asked. "Yah want power" Sasuke said. "Alright then all you have to do is kill your clan oh and save your little brother's life I know you would not want him dead" Danzo said. "What you want me to kill my whole clan" Sasuke asked. "I know about the curse mark and plus you will get all your power once the clan is dead" Danzo said. Sasuke was became outwardly critical of the clan's actions so he thought about it and he really did want power so he told Danzo he would do it the very next day at night he would kill his clan.
