He's so dark. Not in terms of looks or color of his human body, but the spirit in me can sense it. Blake is the first human I met that has such a dark soul.
Should I stay clear?
But isn't my mission here on earth to understand the humans' minds and thoughts? I am sure there are multiple levels and perhaps it's too early for me to determine this is beyond the normal human dark thoughts.
Lon, the celestial writer sat on a bench at the college's garden, opposite the new exchange student, Blake. This was the first time the two had exchanged more than a simple hello.
Lon had taken on a human form after been tasked by God to visit earth for insights of humans, to blend in with the students in Angelica College of Arts. So, she was also a new student herself, just a month before the newer guy Blake joined the college. It was only natural that the both had been asked to be partners for this year end Ad Copy project.
It was not that Lon did not make friends. In fact, she carried her usual bubbly self as she was in heaven to earth, and that had make her many friends in the short one month. It was more like she saw Blake and he seemed to be in his own world, and something in her decided to reach out to him.
"What brings you to Angelica? Have you always been interested in Arts?" Lon broke the ice first with her curious question.
"I was in school of business and doing my masters. One day I decided life is too short and I wanted to pursue something that makes me feel alive more." Blake gave his answer while lighting up another stick of cigarette.
Lon decided to light a stick of cigarette herself. Ya, it was a new hobby that she had picked up amist the partying and drinks in this short period. I sure hope God forgives me for this.
"And what is it that truly interest you?"
"Writing." was Blake's short answer, with a loop sided smile, looking straight at Lon.
Come to think of it, this seems like the first reply he gives while looking me in the eye.
"Wow, what a coincident! I love writing too! It's one of the reasons I decided to come here." Lon smiled and cheerfully replied Blake.
She was not a cold person and despite Blake's short replies, she could still be warm as she always was. As a writer herself, Lon had always been passionate to talk about writing or getting to know other writers.
They talked a little more, and pretty soon it was time for another class. Both knew that they would continue the conversation again. Even if not for the project, it was for the conversation that triggered both of their curiosity in each other.
