As soon as the Captain said it the two spoke together in shock.

"It has?!". The both of them had opened mouth and shock faces while me and Gon were completely calm by the news.

'same old tactics since the last time I did this'. I thought still looking at The Captain

'He was a simple Crew mate before though glad to know he got some recognition'. my train of thoughts was cut off when he started to talk again.

"There are as many Hunter wannabe in this world as the stars in the sky". He casually says still smoking on his pipe.

"and the real examiners? well they don't have the time nor the resources go to through them all".

"And that's where the people like me comes in and pick up the slack and pick out the applicants one by one". he took a deep inhale in his pipe puffing it out before continuing.

"I already notified the committee about the rest of the lot and not one of them made the cut". That news shock the boys except me who stayed composed the entire time.

"It was just a little storm and they couldn't even handle it and that means they can't handle the early stages of the exam".

"Even so, still sounds unfair to me why do this again and again?". I said making them all turned to me.

"What do you mean by again and again?". Leorio asked.

"Did you know about this Y/N-nii-chan?". Gon asks leaning head on the side and an imaginary question mark pop on top of his head.

"Once or twice from an old friend of mine". I said patting his head not bothering to answer Leorio's question.

"Oi! you didn't answer me!". He shouted looking angry with smoke coming out from his ears.

Beside me I see Kurapika in the corner of my eye looking very suspicious of me then looking away when he saw me catching him.

"Hmm, that's true but this is my ship and I do what I want and I'm the reason why only the four of you can move on the next portion of the exam along with my 'Go ahead'". he answered then going back to his smoking.

'Guess the only unfair thing here is because he wanted to see if anyone can handle 'his way'

"As for the two of you punks, I'll ask again and make sure of your answer". It was silent in the room again before Gon spoke up.

"You catch all that?". A question directed to Leorio.

"Tch, you could have told us that sooner old man".

"I'm-".

Then all us of looked when we heard Kurapika speak up.

"I'm the sole survivor of the Kurta clan". once again the room was quite only the waves crashing outside and his voice could be heard.

"4 years ago my entire clan was annihilated by a band of criminals and that is why I wanted to become a hunter, to capture the Phantom Troupe". He look up and wore a confident face with burning passion in his eyes just like Gon.
