-TOMMY POV-
Tw: Blood, Alcohol, Guns, Police, Death, Crying, Yelling
Tommy Heard a crash echo from downstairs, and immediately he started worrying. What if Tubbo was hurt? What if his dad had killed Tubbo? What if his mom was dead? What if-
His paranoid thinking was cut short as he heard a scream from downstairs. There were no words, just a long note, and then there was another crash. This one was followed with a loud thump, almost as if- someone had fallen.
Tommy raced out of the bathroom and down the stairs, only to be stopped at the bottom by Tubbo lying unconscious and bleeding from small cuts everywhere. Tommy drew a sharp breath in, crouching down to pick up Tubbo. He grabbed his older but shorter brother and carried him upstairs, bridal style. Tommy placed him down on one of the beds, and then darted into the bathroom to grab some toilet paper. He drenched it in water and brought it back to Tubbo, slowly and softly dabbing over all his cuts. He stopped some of the smaller ones from bleeding, but some of the larger and deeper one continued to bleed.
Tommy sighed in frustration and worry, he was fed up with their father treating them like this. He partially blamed himself however, as he was the one who refused to tell Tubbo about his shoulder. He had bothered his father at the wrong time and had received a liquor bottle to the shoulder, which left a large gash on his arm. He didn't want to worry Tubbo, he had enough to take care of. Tommy snapped out of his thoughts as Tubbo drew a sharp breath in, and Tommy's eyes widened as the cuts continued to bleed, getting redder and redder by the second. He grabbed a phone that he and Tubbo shared; they had gotten it as a birthday present when their father wasn't a drink and their mother wasn't on the brink of death. He had no idea what to do; so he tried looking up what to do. All the websites he looked at told him to use more high-class medical stuff, but all Tommy had was toilet paper and water. He panicked as more blood seeped onto Tubbo's clothes and face, and so he did what he had been taught to: he dialed 911.
"911, what's your emergency?" The operator asked.
"M-my brother Tubbo- he's bleeding a lot and he won't wake up.." Tommy stuttered, hot tears falling down his face.
"Okay sweetie, it's gonna be alright. Can you tell me where he's bleeding from?" She asked, clearly worried.
"H-his head, his arms, and his shoulders." Tommy replied, trying his best to keep his voice steady.
"Alright. Can you tell me where you live? And where in your house you are?" The operator asked, her voice calm.
"I live on ********** and we're upstairs in a bedroom. I have the door locked and-" Tommy was cut off from loud banging on the door.
"TOMMY, WHOS ON THE PHONE?" Their father yelled, shaking the doorknob.
"N-nobody dad! I'm just talking to Tubbo!" Tommy covered, lowering the volume on his phone as quiet as he could.
"Can you unlock the door for me~" his father slurred, and Tommy heard the sound of glass clinking.
"N-no, I cant, there is a desk blocking it!" Tommy yelled, quietly pushing a large table in front of the door.
He heard footsteps walk slowly away and down the creaky wooden stairs, getting quieter and quieter until Tommy couldn't hear them anymore. Tommy turned his volume back up, but quiet enough that his drunk father wouldn't hear.
"Sweetie who was that? We have cops and some paramedics on our way over." She asked.
"T-that was my dad, he hurt Tubbo.." Tommy whispered, careful not to make too much noise.
"Oh. Alright dear, we're going to get your out of there don't worry." The operator responded calmly.
Tommy nodded, aware that the operator couldn't see him. Suddenly, a dark thought popped into his mind.
"A-are you gonna separate me and Tubbo? And take us to orphanages?" Tommy shakily asked.
"No, we won't separate you, but we will put you up for adoption so you can find a nice family." She responded, keeping her voice even.
"Oh, o-okay." Tommy sniffed, and he looked back over at Tubbo. He brought more tissues to Tubbo's forehead, hoping to reduce the amount of blood he lost. Suddenly he heard sirens in the distance and let out a sigh of relief.
"TOMMY? WHY ARE THERE POLICE OUTSIDE?" His father screamed from outside the door.
Tommy jumped, almost hitting Tubbo with his hand. His breathing picked up as he desperately racked his brain for an excuse.
"Uhm, I don't know, maybe they're not here for us?" He replied shakily, and he felt tears build in his eyes. He watched as the doorknob shook and slowly opened, pushing the desk away slightly. The door opened more and more as the desk was picked farther and farther away, leaving enough room for a man to crawl through.
"Tommy, you never told me you were such a WIMP." His father yelled, busting into the room. He raised an empty bottle above his head and was about to bring it down on Tommy's head-Then Tommy heard a gunshot.
His ears were ringing as he slowly looked down, only to see the horrific sight of his father dead on the floor, with a bullet wound in his back. Police stormed into the room, guns pointed at Tommy and Tubbo. They lowered their weapons as they saw an unconscious, bleeding boy and a taller, sobbing kid in the corner of the room.
A policewoman said something into her radio and a couple of paramedics rushed in, picking up Tubbo who was now drenched in bright red blood. A shorter, kinder-looking police officer held a hand out to Tommy, who was desperately trying to follow Tubbo but couldn't get past the line of police. Tommy unsurely took her hand and they walked out of the traumatic scene, down the stairs, out the door, and into the back of a police car.
