Irina always thought knowledge was power. She also thought that thinking this would get her killed one day. But the funny thing is she's completely fine with that.

Standing in the office of head master dippet was strange. It was so much different from Madame Maximes office. But it gave her a sense of comfort. She was analyzing the room as she sat in a chair in front of dippets desk.

"Hello Miss. Lavigne, I understand your an exchange student from beauxbatons." The head master looked at her intently.

"Yes sir." Irina looked at him as she spoke.

"Well you'll find that our sorting is very different from what your used to." He said with a smile.

"That's okay." Irina just wanted to get to her dorm so she could sleep. She hasn't slept well at all this week. Most of what dippet said went right over her head. Irina was far to busy examining the office.

When dippet came over with the hat Irina wasn't scared just curious. When he sat the hat on her head she was surprised when it talked to her.

"Ooo hello miss. What a situation we have here. I supposed you share the same gift as your father." All Irina did was nod her head.

"Well this is interesting to say the least, in beauxbatons you were a ombrelune. Which is much like a mix of our Slytherin and Ravenclaws. So where to put you." The question was more directed towards itself.

"You're more needed in Slytherin." Was all the hat said before shouting Slytherin for the headmaster to hear. Once he took the hat off for her, her brain was already running a mile a minute. How could Slytherin need her, what was she needed for.

"Ahhh yes yes. I can already see it's a fine match. I'll escort you to the Slytherin common room. Once you're all settled in I'll have one of our prefects come get you for dinner."

Irina wasnt even out of her chair before the head master was already at the main door to the passageway out. She followed him in silence till they got to the entrance.

"Now all you have to say is the password which is pure-blood. Don't tell anyone the password if they are not in your house." An with that the headmaster was walking off.

"Pure blood." Irinas voice wasn't heavy with a French accent like many of her friends were. But it was still there and she loved it all the same.

When she walked in no one was in the common room it was only her. So she walked up the stairs assuming it would lead her to the girls dorms. An she was right for once. Irina remembered dippet saying her dorm was the seventh on the left.

Opening the door she found the dorm empty. She counted her lucky stars for that. She didn't want to make any small talk just wanted to unpack and sleep. Irinas dorm was simple and elegant. Beautiful bursts of green and silver were littered all over the room. The furniture was all a deep cherry stained wood. She had a desk a nightstand and dresser.

Irina didn't have many clothes so she only used the first two drawers of the dresser. She made a mental note to go buy more once she goes to gringotts. Irina set all of her things on the desk marveling at how big it was. Once she was done she got this strange feeling causing goosebumps to erupt on her skin. Being used to this Irina just went to bed.

It didn't take long for her to drift off into a comfortable slumber. Irina was never a heavy sleeper and was greatfull for it. Too much could happen while she was sleeping that she would never know about. So when a sharp precise knock came from her door Irinas hand shot out for her wand. In an instant Irina remembered where she was and flexed her hand settling herself down.
