It was another normal day...George just sitting around, occasionally walking about the palace. It had been about 2 months from his last encounter with the man who tried to assassinate him. George still had that same little piece of fabric, looking at it from time to time when he felt lonely. If it weren't for that fabric, he would have forgotten about him. Yeah, he had plenty of people in his palace but it wasn't the same as how he felt when that man came around. he knew that it was extremely odd for him to let an assassin go without being taken into the palace and thrown into the dungeon or just killed in town for even attempting to kill the king. George kept telling himself it was because he saw how inexperienced he was but he knew deep down that wasn't the case and he knew that.

George sighed, looking about as he sat on the throne and bored as ever could be. he glanced around the large room he sat in. it was so bare and empty, light from above shone in, leaving the center of the room brightly lit. He heard footsteps frantically run over to him. George immediately sat up from his slouched posture and glanced around for the source of the sound.

It was Sapnap. Georges's most trustworthy knight and man was he good fighter. but he had a weird thing for fire..which scared George sometimes. that was the main reason why the palace was lit mostly by natural light. if a torch was on the wall, high enough for Sapnap to grab, George would guarantee he'd grab it and play with it, probably starting a fire. Sapnap was breathing heavily and seemed like he ran a marathon. George was interested in why he looked this way, staring at him, waiting for him to speak. Sapnap bowed and muttered the words "your majesty-"

"shut up and tell me why you look like this" George asked sternly putting up his hand as a signal for him to be quiet. Sapnap nodded and waited for him to bring his hand down, which he eventually did. Sapnap gathered himself together and finally spoke.

"There was an intruder...we tried to catch him but-..he's too fast. he's almost faster than a horse" Sapnap announced. George looked around and back at Sapnap. was it...was it the assassin that was here 2 weeks ago? he stood up, staring at him with angry yet excited eyes.

"Well, what are you doing telling me! Go and sound the stupid alarm," he screamed pointing behind him to a staircase that led up. it was the bell. that bell only rang when there was an emergency. and in this case..there was. Sapnap nodded and quickly ran up the stairs. after a few moments the sound of the bell filling the silent air. George walked swiftly down his little stand and down the large hallway that led to the armor room. He was angry at the fact he had actually come back, to try and kill him but....he did that himself. he had let the man go free, allowing him to get better at assassinating. so George had to be careful..he could be anywhere. Sapnap did inform him he was extremely fast so if he were to encounter him and try to kill him, he'd have to trap him.

George heard fast footsteps get louder towards him. he instantly reacted,  not taking any chances, turning around and taking out his dagger. it hovered over the neck of the person. Eyes wide and filled with sheer terror was Karl.   he looked so confused and scared. George relaxed and drew back the dagger, sliding it back in his holder. "Don't run up on me like that next time"

"uh-uh...King- I'm sorry your majesty- im...I'm sorry for not coming in time, I was-" Karl got interrupted by Georges's hand, him giving him a slight glare. George didn't have time for karls explanation.

"shut..up. I don't care-" he simply stated as he continued to walk. Karl laughed nervously and held onto his book-filled pouch. Karl was Georges's journalist/poet. he wrote down all of Georges's plans and the palace's history for George. Karl had so many books since because......man did George have a huge imagination and so many ideas.

George stopped walking and turned to a small door. it was simple with a burned-in design of a sword and an axe crossing each other, symbolizing the armor room. He turned to Karl, holding his hand out. Karl stared blankly at him, confused at first as to why he was holding his hand out but it soon dawned on him. he yelped and reached in his pouch, handing him a ring of keys. George sighed and took it, finding the right key and unlocking the door, before sliding the door open. He looked around, for something that would be helpful, seeing a couple of sets of armor and a bunch of freshly sharpened swords. along with many other weapons which were going to be very beneficial.

He quickly ran over to the weapon holders that sat on the wall, quickly grabbing a sword. George turned around and handed him his dagger. this was odd to Karl since George never gave away his weapons. but it wasn't due to selfishness. he just didn't want to risk having a traitor within the walls and using those weapons to kill him. Karl took it and held it weirdly, unsure of how to handle it. he had never held or really fought in his life. he was just a poet/journalist so he never thought he needed to know how.

George was about to speak to Karl when there was a loud crashing sound that echoed down the hall. he panicked. he got into the castle, didn't he? George rushed out of the room, looking down the hallway to see Sapnap holding a sword in front of him, pushing against another sword. George looked at the holder of it. he froze, he was right. it was him. it really was his assassin he had encountered a while back. George snarled slightly. he wasn't supposed to come back!

George gave Karl a glance, him backing up and staying out of the way, but still tightly holding onto the dagger. George sighed and swiftly ran up to Sapnap and the assassin. The other male looked up with his stupid smiley face mask. there was a moment of weakness in the other, giving Sapnap a chance to bring him down. A loud sound of metal scraping against metal filled the air as the unknown male's sword flung to the side. Sapnap growled slightly at the other and kicked him down onto the floor. George saw Sapnap swinging his sword, about to go down and slice through his heart. George panicked and took a step forward.

"stop! don't!" He screamed out, holding his hand out. Sapnap suddenly froze and looked at George with a confused expression. He was about to respond but Sapnap was, within a flash, on the floor and the mysterious male was gone. George hissed and tightened his grip on the sword's handle. He looked at Sapnap who was, at the moment, standing up. Sapnap scoffed, kind of mad that he had gotten away but not mentioning it. George looked around frantically before starting to quickly walk down the hallway.

Sapnap followed him but was quickly stopped. George stared into his eyes and didn't break eye contact. "if you find him do not kill him. i repeat..do NOT kill him" George demanded. Sapnap nodded and turned around running off to go searching. George sighed and went on his separate way. was he risking a lot going alone? yes. but he didn't want to depend on others for his protection.

He continued to walk around the palace, in desperate need to see this man. He wanted to know why he was so persistent to kill him. what was even under that mask of his? what was his name? George huffed and shook his head. he needed to focus on his surroundings and not questions. he'll, find them out later. He continued to walk, soon enough ending up at another seemingly endless hallway. He sighed once again, starting to believe that he wasn't in the palace anymore and he was just simply chasing after a ghost.

it was quiet for a while before he heard a loud clang from one of the rooms. George panicked and ran over to the door and opened it..............
