"I remember your touch so well"
I stumbled out of the compartment, my chest having up and down, my cheeks were hot to the touch and it felt like the train was 100 degrees. I wasn't sure why and I needed to sit down
Before I fell right over.
Scanning through the compartments i saw one that appeared to be empty and fell onto the handle, pushing the sliding door open. A sigh of relief parting my lips quickly turning around.
The second I met the eyes of the people in the seemingly empty compartment my cheeks flushed, before getting drawn to his icy cold gaze.
"Prince did no one teach you it's rude not to knock?" he said with a smirk before scoffing. "If you haven't noticed this compartment is taken." Raising an eyebrow at me.
I grimaced as I tried to force out an insult but as soon as I broke eye contact I noticed something off about him, he looked strange. His face and build had changed so much over the 3 months, he was taller, much taller. His hair was perfectly draped over his fair eyebrows and just below his blue grey eyes. He was almost good looking? I tried to convince myself it was just because he looked different, forcing myself to avert my gaze from his.
"Cat got your tongue Prince?" he snickered "You know i never took you for the type to meddle with mudbloods,"
And just like that whatever i had seen in my head before immediately vanished as i glared at him "Shut it Malfoy, they have names you know. In fact Hermione's the brightest witch in our year so I would watch your mouth '' I furiously spat before spinning around and tightly gripping the door of the compartment prepared to walk out, not giving him the satisfaction of having the last word.
Bur before I had the chance he spoke up.
"Well look at that Prince standing up for the mudblood and the blood traitors, I really thought Gryffindors were meant to be smart. I wouldn't want to mix with them if I were you" he remarked in a tone of disgust, a mocking look on his face.
I spun around abruptly ready to speak before he stood up, grabbed my waist and pushed me out of the compartment.
His touch burned into my skin where his hands had been moments before as I flusteredly trudged back towards the compartment where the golden trio were seated.
As I swung open the sliding door my frustrated expression quickly dropped as I saw Ginny sitting next to Harry, quickly running up to her embracing her tightly. Even though Ginny was a year younger I had formed a friendship so strong with her over the past 5 years.
"I missed you so much," I said as my fingers intertwined with her red hair.
"Aurora I missed you too, how was your summer?" she asked excitedly before pulling away from the hug.
Hermione, Ginny, and I were getting off the train and headed towards the boats by carriage. A couple steps behind us were Ron and Harry, it looked like they were arguing about quidditch. I decided to ignore it and trudged forward, Hermione right next to me with a puzzled look on her face.
We made our ways to the carriages weaving through excited, eager, and faceless bodies before settling in a carriage that were being pulled by a force i couldn't see. Out of the corner of my eye I heard Harry talking to Luna Lovegood. I recognized her from the train ride the past few years but had never had a proper conversation with her. Reverting my gaze away from her, I locked eyes with none other than Malfoy. I inwardly groaned as he smirked, having caught me staring at him, I glared before looking away, not wanting to give him the idea that I had been staring at him.
Once me, Hermione, Ginny, Harry, and Ron had gotten situated onto a boat I decided to break the silence.
"Has anyone ever seen Malfoy be nice to anyone, ever?" I scoffed having caught sight of him taunting a first year out of the corner of my eye.
The golden trio burst out laughing as ginny simply stared out into the water.
"He's just a self important git who seems to think everyone else is below him because he's a pureblood." remarked Ron cooley. I assumed he had remembered when Malfoy had mocked his robes in the first year. Harry simply nodded in agreement, his thoughts seemingly elsewhere.
Having been egged on by Ron i continued on with my rant, "Someday someones gonna set him straight. I just hope i'm there to see it." I said quickly as we stepped out of the boats and onto the grounds of Hogwarts. Ron rolled his eyes before a shadow crossed his face.
I winced as I spun around nearly hitting Malfoy with my arm that had whipped around with me. Forcing myself to meet his gaze I looked up to his eyes twinkling in a humorous look, his lips curved into a malicious smirk.
"Prince I know you're obsessed with me but no need to talk about me when i'm not even around" he drawled taking a step towards me.
"I'm sorry, did your father also teach you how to eavesdrop, along with being a spoiled brat?"
As I said those words a look of anger flashed across his face as he turned to Ron and Harry. "Well if isn't Weasley and Potter, the filthy half blood and the poor weasel. I see your rubbing off on Prince, I don't know why she hangs out with you. A waste of pureblood." He scoffed while taking another step towards me but locking his eyes on the scowling two boys.
Ron opened his mouth to say something before I quickly retorted, not wanting to give Ron a chance to embarrass himself. "Malfoy I hate to break it to you but pureblood isn't the only quality of a person. Harry has practically single handedly taken down you know who with the help of Ron and Hermione. And what have you done? You've been a little twat whose father gets him whatever he wants whenever he wants. Your life is perfect." I gave him the dirtiest look as I said this, turning around afterwards preparing to march into Hogwarts. But before i turned around i saw him open his mouth as i said the last part. Your life is perfect. His eyes softened if only for a second.
Walking through the gates of the castle made me immediately forget the look on his face as well as the whole encounter with Malfoy. A huge smile appeared on my face as I walked into the great hall.
The excited first years, the familiar faces, and the headmaster with an approving look on his face made me realize I'm finally home.
I quickly took a seat with Hermione and Ginny and patiently watched the first years getting sorted, clapping and giving a big smile to any of the 11 year olds that took a seat at the table.
This was me 6 years ago I thought to myself as the newly sorted started making new friends with each other, glancing over at Hermione.
Snapping out of my reminiscing I glanced over to the Slytherin table to see Malfoy and his goons, Crabbe and Goyle, who I could never tell apart, making snarky comments and faces at the younger students. The smile I had on my face quickly dropped, turning into a frown before looking away. I don't know why and i don't think I'll ever know why but I couldn't keep my gaze away from the Slytherin table. At the time I had been naive enough to convince myself it was purely because they were tormenting the other students. If only I would've known at the time how horribly wrong I was. Maybe then we could have had more time.
