This story was written back in October for a school project, and I suddenly had the urge to post it on here. I have recently gotten an ich for writting again, so we'll see how that goes. That being said, I hope I can post more often and come up with more ideas for stories.

Warnings for gory scenes and worshiping Satan, umong other things of that nature. At the end of the story, there will be a mentions of psychological treaments. If something seems non-accurate, I'd love be informed so I can be well versed on the topic.

See you next time.

Enjoy.

It was October 31, 2018, the day of Halloween, a cursed holiday that should suffer eternal damnation. It wasn't that Zoe hated the holiday itself, she could care less for the actual day, she just hated what happened on that day. For as long as she could remember, every year on Halloween, her mother would drive her all the way across the city to the Renolds house, she'd spend the night while their parents did what they claimed as something for work.

Zoe had tried her hardest to befriend at least one of them, but at some point she had to face facts, they were probably some of the unlikable people on earth, maybe even in the universe. Lexi was some blonde cheerleader who was honestly dumb as a box of rocks, Donald was a lost puppy who followed his sister and was atrociously sensitive, for a guy at least. Then there was Luke, who looked as if he never left his house at all and the only thing he knew how to do was play video games.

"Mom," Zoe started, staring at her mother intently. "I'm fourteen, almost fifteen, do I really need to stay at your friends house with their kids while you work? I can take care of myself, and it's not like we live on a bad street."

"Weren't you the one who said you heard gun shots in the middle of the night?" Her mother, Sarah, shot back. "Besides, with all this 'killer clown' stuff its better this way. And I don't care how old you are, no 'clown' is getting my baby!" Sarah said, a bit heatedly.

Zoe rolled her eyes as her mother went on a tangent, something the woman had always been prone to doing.

"And I have to make sure you're safe, especially this Halloween; anything could happen this year." Said Sarah worriedly, forgetting that her daughter was listening.

Zoe's head snapped towards her mother, staring at her with a somewhat stoic expression, but you could see the worry in the eyes. "What about this Halloween?" She asked with attitude.

While Sarah was momentarily terrified that her daughter had heard her, she quickly caught on to her questionable tone and smacked Zoe on the head. "Who you think you talking to?" She asked in a tone that Zoe knew meant it was time to stop speaking.

Zoe and her mother didn't speak for the rest of the car ride, well, to each other at least. Sarah would occasionally mutter to herself about something, Zoe heard the low whisper of 'Pazuzu', but chose not to bring it up. Instead, she but in her ear buds and began to blast Straight Outta Compton by NWA.

Before Zoe knew it, they had pulled up into the Renolds drive way and were knocking at their front door. While Sarah held a polite smile, Zoe wore a scowl, not seeing the point in trying to be polite since she made it perfectly clear she didn't like them.
