(Thank you for your patience.)
So it was settled.
After speaking with Shoto and having Kurogiri get in touch with Monoma, the date was set. The day everyone, from both sides, planned on locking up Tomura Shigaraki for good.
Three days from today.
With the duffel bag strap over my shoulder, I slid the hotel room key into the lock. A faint clicking noise heard before the door swung open itself.
Dabi rose to his feet from the desk chair in the room, hurrying my way.
"Hey ____," He spoke rushed, seeming almost relieved, "Did everything at the restaurant go okay?" He looked down at the duffel bag.
I slung it over on to the desk. Dabi unzipped it and his eyes went wide.
"This is real?"
I nodded, then opened my arms, waiting for my proper greeting.
He chuckled and slowly walked back over to me, wrapping his arms around my waist and upper back to hold me tight in his grasp.
"Yes and yes."
He pulled back and looked at the money, keeping one hand on my lower waist, "You know we could just take this and—"
I frowned at him, "I know you haven't lectured me a hundred times over why running away won't work for you to suggest that."
A soft laugh left his lips and he sat on the bed, pulling me on to his lap. I sunk into his shoulder, his smell of cinnamon and his body heat always comforting me.
"I know, I know. It's just a little more tempting what you see that much money."
I interlocked my fingers with his, his much larger and beat up than mine, "You'd get Shoto in trouble too, if we took that. We aren't doing that."
I heard a muffled 'tsk'.
Even though there was a plan, at least for the most part, the heroes were still figuring some stuff out, I couldn't help but feel nervous. So many things could go wrong. He was the most wanted criminal in Japan, he wouldn't go down without a fight.
But at the same time, if it worked, we would be free. Dabi would be free. Toga, Kurogiri, Twice, everyone would have their freedom.
"Hey princess," Dabi waved his hand in front of my face, "What are you thinking about?"
I sighed and sunk further into his chest, "Just what the outcome will be. We will all literally have an hour from when Shigaraki leaves the League and gets to the building to escape to our new lives." I twisted his hoodie string, "Shoto told me, and I know, Tomura will definitely try to expose the League if he gets caught. So we have only that time to get as far away as possible from that place."
"But we have to be there before he leaves or he will be suspicious." Dabi exhaled.
"Just one hour is such little time." I looked up at him, "Are we still going with our plan?"
His index finger caressed under my chin, "It's you that's leaving everything behind baby," he smiled, his staples stretching a bit, "Are we still going with our plan?"
I could feel my heart speed up a bit. The idea of my whole world really changing. It had changed so much ever since I met him, but this would be next level.
I grabbed his face in between my hands and pressed my lips on to his, a silent answer.
America.
