Nini had just found out that her now ex Kyle had been cheating on her for almost a month now, and it had absolutely shattered her heart. Kyle had been her fir- second love, and her first boyfriend for about three years now. He had been super nice at first, charming her with his words and simple cliche romantic gestures. But as time passed, he grew more arrogant and ignorant, hardly giving her any attention or affection at all. He used to get upset for the silliest of things and beat her. Nini being Nini, sucked it up and stayed quiet, convincing herself that he was busy and that he loved her.

When Ricky heard Nini's shaky voice on the phone, he had rushed over with a pint of mint and chocolate chip icecream, dill chips, cookies and every other comfort food he could think of, along with Nini's favourite DCOM, Lemonade Mouth, and a spare hoodie, because he just knew. He was there in less than ten minutes, and the door swung open to reveal a puffy eyed Nini, with red nose and ears, and tears running down her cheeks, her hair tied up into a really messy bun.

He dropped all the things he was holding down wordlessly, and rushed to engulf her in his arms. She melted into the hug sobbing a little, and calming down a little due to his presence, as she lay her head on his chest. Ricky's hands had wrapped around her completely, his head on hers, as he rocked their bodies together from side to side gently, which he found calmed her down.

They stayed like this for a few minutes, and Nini lifted her head to look up at him. 'Ricky..' He looked down at her. 'It's okay, Nini. You don't have to tell me anything if you don't want to. Let's just go in. I brought all your favourites.' She nodded softly, and they went in hand in hand, and settled down on the couch, his arm around her shoulder, rubbing up and down in a comforting way. He put in the CD and the movie started. Ricky kept the snacks close, knowing she would be hungry soon.

Midway through the movie, he heard sniffling, and paused the movie, and turned to look at the brunette on his shoulder, whose arm was around his waist.

'Nini..?' She started crying uncontrollably again, and Ricky gently lifted her off the sofa and seated her on his lap, caressing the back of her head tenderly.

'Ricky, I- I- I feel terrible.. hurt.
I was a horrible girlfriend. I'm a terrible kisser. I didn't do enough to meet his expectations. And that's probably why Kyle- he cheated on me with Nellie, I know why now. She's a thousand times prettier than me with her perfect blonde hair and blue eyes, she's so confident and smart. I deserved it. Kyle's better off without me. I'm so stupid and ugly and Kyle he would never-'

Nini cried loudly and hysterically onto his shirt, staying curled into his chest, her hot tears staining his hoodie. His heart ached and ached so bad, seeing his best friend of thirteen years being like this. He wanted to punch Kyle in the guts for hurting her, hard and knock a few teeth out, just to teach him a lesson.

Nobody messes with Nini's feelings.

She was the most kindest, funny, caring, smart, adorkable, and overall the most amazing person he knew, and gosh, he had loved her from the very first day they met platonically, but as they grew up together, spending most of their time in each other's company, he began noticing the tiny things about her, like the way she scrunched up her nose when she teased him, or the way she always chewed on her lower lip when she was deep in thought, and the way she scrunched up her whole face when she sang along happily to Taylor Swift's or Lorde's songs, from their playlist.

Yes, Ricky and Nini had a playlist together, with all their favourites from the past eight years, and sang along loudly to, on their drives to school or practically anywhere, what about it?
