Unreachable Silence

PROLOGUE

It's the second day of my Tita's wake and I haven't gotten sleep ever since.

Tita and I were off to buy groceries that time when we got into a car accident, nawalan ng preno ang sinasakyan namin at ako lang ang naka ligtas. Tita pushed me outside of the car before it even fell into the cliff. Sa damuhan ako natapon at nagpagulong gulong kaya naman minor injuries lang ang nakuha ko. This is all my fault, ako nalang sana ang namatay.

I only have Tita Mel in my life and now that she's gone, I don't know what to do anymore, parang nawalan narin ako ng ganang mabuhay. We've been together for 16 years, ever since I was born, she was the one who took care and fed me up all these years. She's the only one who truly loves me.

I sighed, as much as I want to let this pain out naubusan na ako ng luha. I can't even stand right now, it's like I can't feel my body.

I roamed my eyes and see Tita Syel and Tito Shan na papunta sakin, sila nalang kasalukuyang bisita ngayon at mukhang uuwi na ito. According to them ay matalik daw silang magkakaibigan ni tita noong college ito.

Kakaunti lang ang bumibisita sa lamay ni tita at karamihan sa mga ito ay ay mga katrabaho niya. Her boss even visited kaninang umaga pero agad lang din itong umalis kasi busy pa daw siya.

"Iha tutulak na kami ah, malayo pa ang byahe namen, pasensya kana talaga di ka namin masasamahan ni Tito Shan mo dito, as much as we want busy talaga kami lalo na sa anak namin." Their eyes are so sincere at makikita ang awa rito.

I nod "It's ok Tita, kaya ko naman, naiintindihan ko po" I even smiled a bit to reassure them.

"Don't worry iha, I already contacted and informed Glen kaninang umaga, she's Mel's childhood and bestfriend, dadating yun dito bukas, but knowing Glen baka nga ngayon na yon darating." Tito Shan added

I smiled and nodded once again. Kinuwento nila sakin kanina kung paano sila nagkakilala ni Tita Mel at naging magkaibigan, kasali narin doon ang sinasabi nilang 'Glen' at batay sa kwento nila ay mabait naman ito.

"Sige po tita at tito, salamat sa pagpunta rito, mag iingat po kayo" I escorted them hanggang sa gate.

I sighed. I am extremely tired, tired emotionally and physically, tired from all this pain, tired from everything.

I rested the back of my head at the chair I was sitting and closed my eyes, recalling the happy and funny moments I had with tita to help my self cheer up a bit.

I can feel the corners of my lips stretched out a bit but it was only a matter of second and was suddenly turned into a sour one.

I felt a hard slap at the side of my face, you can say it was a punch sa lakas nito.

Nalasahan ko ang dugo at minulat ang mga mata.

What a great day.

"You bitch, my sister died because of you and here you are smiling in front of her coffin?" The bitch of all bitches shouted at my face.

I stayed my head down and decided not to make a word or two. Kahit naman anong sasabihin ko di nila papakinggan.

She grasped my jaw and forced me to face her, I can feel her nails digging into my skin. I looked at her eyes and I can see it was about to cry. Her eyes are full of hatred towards me and I can feel it burning my soul.

"You are a devil, hindi na sana kita iniluwal pa, malas ka talaga." How I wish na sana nga di nalang ako pinanganak.

I tried to get away from her grasp but it's just too tight so I decided to just close my eyes, ready to take all her curse.

But before she even let all her frustrations out, someone grabbed her hand that was holding my jaw and throw it aside.
