The same amount of time had passed, which required a prokaryote to complete it's life cycle. But Sadaaki had not anticipated that he would be pierced harder than the penetration of viral cells into bacteria.
"Since Akio is on leave today, I am going to assign his assignments to you." The professor said skimming through some sheets of papers on his desk.
Sadaaki's mind was in daze as if dipped in the strong sedatives. Oh no, he wasn't even mildly thinking about Akio – his buddy through thick and thin. His friend couldn't even fit in the membranes of his brain, for it had been filled with the thoughts of one person alone.
What is she doing here?
Sadaaki had run through all of his brain power to think of an explanation. Being a first year, she would hardly get to visit the 3rd years department. Yet, there she was standing tall like the unphased specialist of his beating heart.
His insides felt fuzzy when he could leer at her gorgeous flocks. But that was not what made his vital organs batter. It was the power of that gaze which she had fixed on him.
The two eyes were engaged, locked together like interlinked capillaries. The way so delicately the shy princess flicked her eyes that it casted a shadow of her long lashes onto her smooth skin.
Thump*
Thump*
Thump*
Sadaaki slammed his hand on his chest. What is wrong? His heart was pounding abnormally fast. His beats were so loud that he couldn't really understand what the gibberish his professor was spouting.
" – Sadaaki?!"
"Ah! Y-yes professor?"
"Are you not feeling well?" Professor asked looking at his pale skin.
"Ah! N-no, I'm fine. What were you saying, sir?" Sadaaki asked wiping away the drops of sweat.
His professor casted a gander and shook his head. He sighed,
"Go to the nurse's office and lie down for a bit. Come find me when you feel better, okay?"
"Yes sir!" Sadaaki said and left. He turned around one more time to look at the shy princess, he felt the bitter taste of medicine when he realized, that she wasn't looking at him anymore.
"Maybe I really am feeling sick?" Sadaaki murmured and went to the nurse's office.
. . .
The heart is the hungriest organ. It needs to be nurtured with care and delicacy for it has the heartiest appetite.
Sadaaki sighed for the nth time staring at the clock across the room. He had been lying on the bed, measuring his heart beats. He could swear his heart was malfunctioning few hours ago. Could it be some sort of new undiscovered disease?
His heart only behaved ooc when his mind was occupied with the certain someone. Akio wasn't even there to console him.
He was lost for ways.
"Urggg...!" He groaned and changed his side, he pulled out his phone and decided to call Akio but he recalled Akio was gone to his family's farm house. So, he probably won't reach him.
He creaked a frustrated sigh but his finger accidentally touched the dial pad.
"Hello?"
"Ah?!!"
