CHAPTER 4

MYUNGSOO POV  

She hesitated a little before she smiled at me. "Sure."  

I liked that when she smiled, her eyes reflected it and lit up her face. Her fringe was ruffled, her mascara and eyeliner gone but she looked just as pretty.

 "Oppa do you have your phone?"

  I shook out of my trance. "Eh?"

  I padded my pockets for it, when I realised it was still in the car...on the floor...under manger hyung's seat...thanks to Sungjong.

  I rubbed the back of my neck, this was embarrassing, "Aish, I ... I left my phone in the car."

  She laughed at me, "That's ok. I'll go grab a pen."

  She raced off, ponytail bouncing behind her.

  While I waited I whirled around to look out at the sky. The stars twinkled lightly against the dark night atmosphere. The little white dots scattered mindlessly across the border. It was one of those rare nights where the sky was completely clear in every direction. No mist or fog lingering about covering the stars.

   "The sky's quiet pretty tonight  isn't it?" Jae Hwa said quietly next to me.

  I turned to look at her, her long hair now out of a pony tail and falling lightly on her back. It was still wavy and creased from the hair tie bounding it tightly all night.

  I smiled and nodded.

  "Hey it looks like dog." She pointed at the clump of stars on my left.

  I frowned. I tried to imagine it, "No it doesn't."

  "Yeah!!" She insisted.

  "I can't see it."

  "Ok do you see the three stars together that look like a triangle?" She pointed again.

  I nodded.

  "Ok thats the nose, and then it goes up in a curve for the head."

  "Mhmm"

  "Then the neck and back."

  "Yeah."

  "And the tail too." She said.

  "Where?" I frowned.

  "There." I said pointed.

  I looked in the direction she was pointing, "Um."

  She stood on her tippy toes and moved closer to me, "Right...there." She pointed, her face right next to mine. As I breathed, a sweet but faint raspberry scent wafted into my nose. I liked it.

  Honestly at that moment, I wasn't really concentrating on finding the tail on the dog, because my heart was racing at a hundred miles an hour. She was so close to me.

  I could hear each individual heart beat pounding hard in my ears.

   "You see it?" She asked, lowering herself, so she was flat on her feet.

  "Um not really."

  "Thought so." She teased. It was cute how she imagined the little animal from just the stars.

  A strong breeze picked up and she suddenly started sneezing and rubbing her arms to get rid of the goose bumps.

  "You should go inside so you don't catch a cold." I said quickly, a little guilty I had kept her out for so long.

  "I still have to give you my phone number pabo." She smiled.

  She wrote her number on my hand in dark blue ink, with an extra little heart after the numerals.   She kept her hand under mine, to hold it still while she wrote. It felt just right being there.

  When I slid the door open to the car, everyone was awake, even Sunggyu hyung. 

  "How did it go?" Sungjong asked.

  "When are you going to see her next?"

  "Did you use aeygo?"

  "Did you hug her?"

  "Yah !! Did you get her number?"

  I showed them my hand happily, and a loud cheer erupted.

  Manager hyung handed back my phone, "Did you get your phone back?"

  I gulped.

  He chuckled, "Get in the car kid."

  I sat down happily and recited the events to everyone in the car.

   "You didn't use aeygo?" Woohyun said as we walked up the steps to our dorms.

  "No." I said slowly and kicked off my shoes.

  "Girls love aegyo!!"

  "Aish Woohyun." Sunggyu sighed and pushed him to their room. "L..."   I turned around, "Neh?"

  "If you end up getting a girlfriend you still need to put Infinite first." Our leader looked straight at me, "No missing rehearsals or skipping out of on work. You still need to put in effort, if not twice as much."

  I nodded.

  "Just keep in mind when we start doing more promoting and shows you may see her less."

  "Aii yah hyung I haven't asked her to be my girlfriend. I was just getting her number." I said.

  "I know but just remember that. Araso?"

  I nodded.

  He smiled and patted my back before heading to his room.

  I flounced down on my bed. The night went so well I couldn't quiet believe it.

  I never really had a girlfriend or a first love...maybe she would be It. I lay awake replaying everything again in my mind. When I remembered the words Sunggyu hyung said to me I felt a little sad somehow. I was idol and I knew that it somewhat it wouldn't be the same but I knew I would have to try my best to make everything normal.

  I really liked her and I really hoped she felt the same.

    As I replayed the night the hundredth time in my head, when I realised that there was one person who hadn't spoke to me all night. Sungyeol.

  He had stayed quiet the entire car trip home. Why? It wasn't like him to be silent. I frowned. Did I do something wrong?

  I chuckled, then a thought came across my mind. Does he like Jae Hwa too?
