Have you ever had a dream that felt so real until you woke up and realized it wasn't? Well that's what just happened to me.

I was falling out of an airplane, no parachute. Don't ask me why, its a dream I have no clue. Just as I'm about to hit the ground I'm engulfed in coldness. In the distance I can hear someone saying my name.

"Aries! Wake up! Come on, get up, now!"

My eyes snap open and I realize I am not skydiving, but instead I am laying in my bed at home.

"Good you're up, get ready and come meet me and your father in the living room." My mom said, leaving the door open as she left. Of course.

I sigh and glance at my clock, its 10 in the morning. Still way to early to wake up, especially in the summer. Sure there's only 4 days left, but still.

I slowly sit up and stand from the bed. Ignoring her orders to get ready, I leave my room and head for the kitchen.

I pour a bowl of cereal and stare at the brown wall. Everywhere you look there's family pictures, me ice skating, me at my birthday party, me in the bath, yeah I hate that one.

As I'm finishing up I hear my dad call, "Aries is that you? Come here."

I sigh and put my bowl in the sink before walking into our small living room. There were more pictures on the walls and we had two Lazy Boys. We also had a big couch that almost everyone I knew had.

"Aries your mother and I have some exciting news," My dad stated pulling me back into reality.

"Last night we got a letter, I think you should take a look at it." He handed me a recently opened fancy envelop with a bright red stamp on it.

"What is it?" I asked.

"Just read it" my mother told me.

I carefully opened the envelope and pulled out a hand written cursive letter.

It read;
Dear Aries Ram,
Congratulations! You have been excepted into Elmwood a school for gifted prodigies such as yourself. This should be considered a great honor so please remember to bring your respect. If you choose to except your plane ticket and schedule are included below, as is the address. We all hope to be seeing you soon!
Best regards,
Principle Ainsworth

By the time I had finished reading my eyebrows were raised high. School for gifted people! The only thing I was remotely gifted at was annoying my parents. How did that get me an invitation to some fancy boarding school?

"Is this a joke?" I asked my parents.

They shook their heads slowly smiling in pride. "We are so proud of you honey!" My mom said hugging me tightly.

"So let me get this straight, a fancy boarding school located god knows where wants me to go to high school there?"

My dad nodded, "Its located in Sweden."

At this I choked. "WHAT! That's crazy, there is no way I'm going! I won't be able to see my friends or play on the football team, and I can't visit you guys!" My mother frowned slightly.

"This is a great opportunity to make new friends, and don't worry about us we will be alright. And they have a sports program so you can do sports there!"

My mother seemed set on me going but I still wasn't sure.

"But what about the money a school located in Sweden is bound to be worth a lot of money!" I said getting desperate for an excuse not to go.

"Its already taken care of, the scholarship was free as is the plane ticket." My dad grinned. "Son I know that you don't want to go, but this is to good of an opportunity, we just want whats best for you." My dad said softly making it clear that it was decided for me.

I chewed my lip. On one hand I had everything here. I had friends, family, a reputation, here life was easy. But on the other hand, maybe going to Sweden would be fun, maybe I'll create a reputation there.

I sighed and said, "Okay I'll go to Elmstick, or whatever."

My mother gave me a proud look, "I am so happy for you! Come on I'll help you pack."

And that is how this nightmare started.
