AU: Cas is a new college professor and Dean is this mysterious boy, They fall on love blah blah blah. Written in Cas's POV. I hope you like :)
Today's my first day at this new college and I'm really hoping I get treated with more respect here. I walk in and noticed I had gotten grape jelly from breakfast on my shirt. Well this day is off to a great start. The lesson is going well so far I thought, until a boy stumbled in 20 minutes late. I didn't really know what to say but for some reason I said, "You're late." All he did was shrug his shoulders. The rest of class was normal.

At the very end of class when I was picking up my things and about to leave the boy who came in late approached me. I was surprised when he apologized for being late. He had said that he had something important to take care of. That was it. He also asked for the notes from the begging of class. I gladly gave them to him and went home. He told me his name was Dean.

When I got home to my one bedroom apartment I had Chinese takeout and watched TV. While sitting on my couch for some odd reason I wondered why that boy was late. I then checked his record and his grade in my class was low, but all his other classes had good grades. I didn't think anything else of it and went to sleep.

The next day Dean didn't come to class at all. I was really shocked but I went on with my day. While I was sitting at home again there was a knock on the door. I opened it to find Dean standing there. I was confused and asked what he was doing here. He looked upset almost as if he's been crying. He just asked if he could get the work he missed from today. I invited him in. I was kinda embarrassed considering my apartment is a mess. "Want something to drink?" I asked him. He shook his head and said, "I'm really sorry I wasn't in class today....something came up." I went through my papers while he talked, I wasn't going to say anything but I had to. "Is...everything ok?" He looks down. A tear dripped off his face. And with a small broken voice he said, "No." I walked over to the table and without even thinking about it I put my hand on his shoulder. I told him it was ok if he wanted to talk about it or even if he didn't. Soon he burst into more tears. "My...mom she...she's dying. That's why I'm so late all the time because I have to take her to the hospital for her check ups. Today we got told the cancer is spreading so I stayed home with her." He still was crying. I got him a tissue and let him get it all out. I told him I understood and that it was okay. I told him he was strong and handling it ok. Most students would never even think to get the work they've missed.

He eventually stopped crying and said, "I probably look stupid coming here and telling you my problems, I'm sorry for bothering you." I didn't know what I was talking about but I said, "I saw your grades and they were great except for....my class..." He told me math was never his best subject and that's why he was getting all his missing work so his grade wouldn't get any lower. For some reason I told him that if he needed tutoring or something extra I could help. He smiled brightly and thanked me. He asked for my number so if he needed the tutoring he could contact me and then left.
