"HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!" Everyone shouted when Clinton entered the house. •••

Though it was America's independence day and the mid-summer heat was unbearably hot, 70+ people came over to the house. Streamers hung from the ceiling, and confetti littered the floor. The entire house smelled of alcohol and sweet cake. Loud music played from Jesse's speakers that vibrated the walls, the floors shook from all of the heavy stomping from all the dancing.

Clinton's smile -which was so wide it could only be measured in miles- brightened the dim room as he danced in the large crowd. People patted his shoulders, gave him hugs, and handed him presents while sending him their birthday wishes. And in the middle of it all, stood Christian and Mitchel.

Mitchel's POV:

Mitchel hated parties. Or, at least, that's what he always said. No matter where he went in the house, it was crowded. He squeezed his way through the cluster of people, spotting a certain long-haired-blond-boy. When he caught his eye, he raised his hand hand waved, shimmying through the crowd to meet him half way.

"Christian," he breathed. His friend leaned in, saying, "What? The music, It's too loud!" Christian had to shout. After a series of "What?" being shouted, Christian clasped his hand in Mitchel's, pulling him after him. He led Mitchel out of the living room, and down the hallway. To Mitchel's surprise, the outside was even more crowded than inside.

He didn't mind that Christian held his hand and pulled him around. In fact, he almost enjoyed it. He took a sip from his plastic cup, and suggested going upstairs. Christian nodded, and together they headed up the stairs, hand-in-hand.

Christian's POV:

Christian liked the way his hand fit with Mitchel. It felt natural, how their hands always seemed to find the others, and their fingers linked together. Christian opened a door to find two people in the middle of a drunken frenzy of interlocked lips and exploring hands. He closed the door, and pawed for the door handle to the small bathroom at the end of the hall. The music was still loud even upstairs, but when they closed the door, all they could hear was the muffled beat.

"I hate parties," Mitchel whispered. Christian laughed out loud. His friend leaned on the sink, and Christian was closer than he probably should have been for friends. They were no longer holding hands, but Christian may as well have been because his arms casually pinned Mitchel to the sink.

He gently took the red cup out of Mitchel's hand and they both took small sips of the liquid. By then, they probably had too much to drink- they weren't drunk yet, but they would be soon if they kept going.

"Where's Jordan?" Christian asked. Mitchel shrugged. "She said she had to go somewhere at around 11," he replied. Christian nodded, and finished off the rest of the beer, tossing the cup into the trashcan beside the toilet. When he turned to face his friend once again, he felt Mitchel's thin fingers slide onto his face. "What is it?" he asked. Mitchel's fingers slid to his temples, pulling Christian's hair along with them, tucking the strands behind his ear.

He felt his heart skip a beat. Mitchel always had that effect on him. Weather he knew that he was doing it or not, Mitchel always found a way to make Christian feel something- a feeling he didn't truly understand. All of the hugs and kisses they shared on and off stage always felt like something more than just a display of strong friendship to him.

"Nothing," Mitchel said, and smiled. God, Christian (and most of the fandom) loved his smile. Before he could think better of it, Christian leaned in. Their noses brushed, and then his lips found Mitchel's.

Mitchel's POV:

It was too loud downstairs, and too crowded outside, so they went upstairs to talk. So why was Christian kissing Mitchel, and why was he kissing him back? Usually, it was a little peck, nothing more. Maybe it was because they weren't thinking straight. They hadn't done drugs in a while, but a couple of bottles of beer and shots of tequila weren't exactly going to lead to a safe night with daises and roses.

"Kras," Mitchel sighed against his best friend's lips. He slid his hands down from Christian's face, and rested them on his neck. Finally, he broke the kiss, and moved downwards, pulling down the collar of his shirt and kissing his collarbone.

"Hey," Christian said. His voice was strained. "Don't leave a mark," Mitchel pulled away, smiling. "But you're so pretty," he purred. A light blush stained Christian's cheeks, and he pulled away. "We should, uh, get back to the party. And Clinton," he said. Mitchel nodded, not taking his eyes away from Christian who stayed still. He was still pinning Mitchel on the sink.

"Are you sure you wanna go back?" Mitchel asked. Christian nodded in reply, but didn't move. He sighed, looking at the bigger boy. Slowly, Mitchel trailed his fingers down Christians arm until they found his fingers. This made Christian turn redder. Grinning, Mitchel linked this pinky finger with his friend's and he opened the bathroom door. Together, the headed down the stairs to Clinton and the party.
