Miranda woke up stretching. She yawned, opening her mouth widely. It was still a little dark as she picked up her phone. The bright light shined in her eyes. She yawned again. There were two messages from Ben: Goed morning sweetheart. Another one was sent a minute later: I meant good. but you knew that.
She smiled at the phone and typed out a message to him: And here I thought Id found a smart guy.
So you got jokes?
Maybe. Good morning to you too.
Just getting up?
You could just call.
I didnt want to wake you up
Wake me up
Miranda got out of bed and walked to her son's bedroom. "Tuck," she called out. She watched him rustle out of his sleep and start to wake up. She gave him his five minutes to really wake up. Walking back into her room, she picked out clothes to wear for the day. While in her closet, she heard her phone going off. It was Ben. She picked it up. "Hello?"
"Good morning," Ben said. Hearing his voice put a semi-permanent smile on her face.
"Hey, you." Ben started to speak. "Hold on for a second." She walked to her son's room. "Get up, William George. It is time to get up and it's time to get ready for school." He nodded and slinked out of bed. "Sorry about that."
"It's no problem. Tell LT I said 'hey'."
"Tuck! Ben says 'hey'."
"Hey, Ben!" Tuck said. He smiled as he closed the bathroom door.
"My son says 'hey' back." Ben told her to tell Tuck to have a good day. "This sounds like a conversation that you two need to have."
"Okay, well, put him on the phone," Ben answered.
"Seriously?"
"Seriously."
"Well, he just walked into the bathroom. So, when he comes out and get dressed and whatnot, I will hand over the phone. But until then..." Her voice trailed off.
"I'm stuck with you?" Ben chuckled. And Miranda laughed. They were quiet for a minute. "What are you doing today?"
"First, I'm going to take Tuck to school." She went to her dresser and pulled out some underwear. Today she would go with a black bra and a pair of black panties with a purple lace waistband. For some reason, she was feeling sexy. She looked to the door to make sure her son wasn't there and lowered her voice: "And, at some point, I will be taking a nice, warm bath."
"Ooo, are you, uh, trying to get me to come over?" He asked her and every hair on her body stood up.
"Well, I—"
"Mommy!" Tuck shouted. Miranda's eyes widened and she ran to her son who was in the bathroom. He stood in front of the sink, with his toothbrush in his hand. Saliva with traces of blood dripped from his mouth. She looked in the sink and saw a tooth near the drain.
She exhaled. "Do not scare me like that, William George."
"Sorry. My tooth just fell out!" He exclaimed happily. Miranda smiled and nodded. She heard Ben calling her name on the phone.
"Hold on, baby. Tuck's tooth just fell out."
"Cool. Are you still going to put him on the phone?" Ben asked.
"Y-yeah. Sure. Just give him a second to wash his mouth."
Miranda put the tooth in his bathroom cabinet and helped Tuck gargle and he took the phone from her. "Hello?" He said softly.
