Chapter 6
Morning
3 hours before
Kasumi and her caretaker sat in the live room in silence, eating breakfast. Naomasa broke the ice and spoke
"Are you sure you're ready for this?"
Kasumi chuckled as she finished her danish.
"Ask me again once they are in custody."
The detective chuckled as well. His phone buzzed with a text from Sir Nighteye.
"Well. whatever it may be, it's time. So suit up, kid"
Kasumi grabs her suit and fills herself up on water.
At stakeout:
Upon arrival at the stakeout, Kasumi notices two middle class men from UA she had seen around the halls. One of the boys wore a red cape and the shy one a purple cloak. She couldn't help but feel nervous for them, bringing back trauma from her past. Then she loosened up once she realized they must be well trained to be at a mission like this one. She also recognized one of their teachers (2a) standing by Fatgum. 'I think his pro-hero name is Morph. He must be Orca's replacement.'
"Remember. Just because you are this mission, it doesn't excuse you for falling behind in school." The monotone voice rumbled from behind her. "Also. Now that we are outside of school, call me Eraserhead."
"Yes sir. How did you get your hero name?" Kasumi smirked, but was full of curiosity. Her professor groaned and dropped a few eye drops into his eyes.
"Ugh. I don't want to talk about it. Just make sure you enjoy your name, kay." He left to talk to the other pros.
Meanwhile, one of the students noticed Kasumi and turned to his pal.
"Hey, look at another student. I thought we were the only ones. Not that I don't mind if she is here or anything. Just didn't know there were other interns with the pros here."
"Don't be so nosy, Lemillion. Though I have seen her in the halls once."
"Same here, Suneater. Or she could be the informant, Fatgum was talking about." Before Lemillion had the chance to test his theory, SIr Nighteye called everyone together and went over the plan. Without skipping a beat, he turned his attention to Kasumi.
"Any last comments, informant?" All eyes flashed to the unexpecting first year. Lemillion nudged Suneater.
"Uh. yea. Since these copycats have recruited willing adults recently, they have less time getting used to their new quirks. So that can be an advantage, but disadvantage if they are highly tempered. Look out for green in their eyes or around them, it is a sign of mind control."
"Adease then. This is meant for apprehension, other than that only emergencies." The teams split into two and headed to the location. NIghteye grabs Kasumi's arm before she joins her team.
"Still having the same ambitions as yesterday, correct? No hesitations?"
"No hesitation here. And there won't be any. Mission comes first."
"Good. I still don't like you being here and you have yet to gain my trust." He took a few steps, but looked over his shoulder. "But it is good to have someone with your experience."
'Was that a complement?' Kasumi thought as she joined her Team A and prepared for the raid. Silence overcame her as she set her mind and took in a breath. She iced the outer wall, freezing the cameras. Nighteye gave the signal to Lemillion who took out the invisible guards by the gates. Both team prepared to intercept the inner wall.
