⚠️SPOILERS!⚠️

alison had just been arrested for the murder of mona vanderwaal.
everything was kicking off.
————————————————————
it was 5:37am, and the girls were heading out from hanna's house after waiting for her to fall asleep while mourning her close friend's death, mona.
"does anyone need a lift home?" spencer asked what was left of the group.

"i'm alright thanks" sighed aria, glancing slightly and just catching spencer's eye for less than a second before looking away, embarrassed.

"yeah me neither, gotta be up early for work, if i can get any sleep in that is" emily complained, as if the world revolved around her.

spencer began to collect her things.
"well i better be getting home then, my parents are gonna freak, especially straight after a murder case"

"spencer!" emily exclaimed with her  usual wide eyes plastered across her face taking up half of her four head.
(it's true, she always seems to have a worried/angry look about her face)

"whaaaatttt!?" spencer asked exasperated "its not like she can hear me shes nocked out!"

spencer sighed and left the room in a huff, aria gave emily an apologetic look  before catching up to spencer and grabbing her arm.

"check your messages" she whispered, striding past her as if they never communicated at all. spencer's face went red with the thought of aria singling her out. emily followed the pair out of the house, trying to be the centre of attention.

"why are you guys in such a hurry? got somewhere to be? i'll come too"

"no i think i'm just gonna head home to bed, sorry" spencer rambled, clearly not sorry in the slightest.

————————————————————
spencer opened her car door, and sat inside, putting her head in her hands. why was emily always interfering? spencer thought about how she could never have a second alone with any of the other girls, all because emily seemed to find a way to put herself in the middle of every situation, and was instantly put in a bad mood. she suddenly remembered aria's strange reminder, and opened her messages. her face lit up as she looked at the screen, forgetting all about emily and her faults.

aria: meet me at the brew now, before emily's shift.

spencer smiled to herself oblivious, then realised her face had lit up, shook it as off and started up the car.

driving up to the brew, her heart was skipping beats faster than she could drive. was she worried? if so, why? it was just a simple meet up with a friend, it shouldn't be this nerve racking.
———————————————————
sitting on a sofa in the brew, coffee in hand, aria's eyes couldn't leave the window where spencer would be coming in through.

the brew was empty all exept for a couple of hung over men at the other side of the coffee house, and jarred on his morning shift.

DING
the bell at the top of the brew door rang softly as spencer hasting entered. aria smiled sweetly at spencer and patted the seat next to her, gesturing for the tall brunette to come and sit next to her smaller friend.

calmly and collectively, spencer came to sit opposite aria, a coffee table separating the two girls.

"hey" spencer said yawning, but smiling.

"hi spence" aria said, a little too enthusiastically. there was a small silence as they caught each other's eye's. aria blinked and shook her self slightly.

"y'wanna coffee?"

"sure that'd be great, thanks"

aria got up and began walking towards the counter.

"decaf!" spencer called after aria
aria turned her head around and her luscious long brunette hair wrapped around her shoulders.

"i know" aria said with a smirk
———————————————————
she returned shortly, spencer was out of it as she had been staring at her the whole time she was ordering, what was wrong with her? it's only a coffee!

"whipped" aria said, smiling. spencer didn't reply. "your favourite" aria continued, sitting down and pressing the paper cup into spencer's hands.

"hm?" spencer mumbled, shocked at the brief touch of hands between her and aria. "oh, thanks aria, that's really sweet" she accepted the coffee and they sat smiling, sipping their beverages.

DING
the bell rang softly once again, but this time it wasn't spencer's warm welcoming feeling walking through the door - it was emily.
