pulling spencer to one side by the arm, aria explained everything. spenecer stayed silent until the distressed aria had finished speaking, which was an unusual move as she would have butted in multiple times if it was anyone else speaking. maybe it was the small brunette's eyes that you could just get ever so lost in, or the way she seemed to care so much. spencer didnt know, but as aria came to the end of her sentence, all she could think about was hanna's case.

"oh my god" spencer exclaimed. "is she gonna be okay?"

"im not sure, tanner is going to tell us about the hearing-"

"hearing?! god is there anything else i should know about?"

"you know as much as i do, oh, but the hearing isn't han's, its ali's"

"and we have to attend?"

"yes, spence! if we don't, hanna could be dealing with a much worse sentence than a prison cell for a few nights"

just as the conversation was coming to a close, emily nudged herself in between the two girls. she turned to aria and asked,

"so, does she know?"

sighing, spencer replied for her

"yes, emily, i know"

aria pointed over to the entrance

"we've got company"

the girls all looked over to where aria was motioning. detective tanner was exiting the building and heading over to where the girls were stood in a huddle.

"emily, aria, spencer" tanner said, nodding to each of the girls as she spoke their names. "as you know there is going to be a hearing for alison dilaurentis which will be taking place tommorow.

emily turned to catch a glance with one of the others, who were already looking at eachother.

"we'd like to attend" tanner continued.

"and what happens if we don't?" spencer asked inquisitively.

"if you choose not to attend the hearing, well lets say your case won't look very good and leave it at that, shall we?" she said turning slowly on her heals as she walked away.

"are you threatening us?!" spencer called after her "is she threatening us?" she said with one eyebrow raised as she turned to the girls.

"i don't know spence, we'll have to wait until tomorrow" aria said, sounding worried. "and hey, look on the bright side, hanna will have to be there too so we will get to see her and ask her about everything that's been going on as well"

"oh shoot"

spencer and emily turned to see aria bent down at the foot of her car.

"flat tire" aria called to them.

"oh i can give you a lift if you'd like!" spencer shouted over.

"it's alright spence, i've got her" emily said, taking aria over to her car.

"thanks em" aria smiled at the dark haired girl, while turning round to give the other one a small wave."

spencer headed back to her car, defeated, and drove home.

"thanks for the ride" aria said cheerily, while also thinking about how she wished she had gone in spencer's car as she barely saw her or got a chance to talk to her at all that day.

the silence felt too loud.

aria wondered why it felt so awkward with her.

"soo..."
