Wall-E was doing his normal job, collecting trash and compacting it in cubes, otherwise "cleaning", when suddenly a small pod falls from the sky. A Wall-E watched this and lifts his metal eyebrows, his pet cockroach climbs onto his shoulder to watch. Wall-E turns his head to his friend, nods and begins rolling as fast as he can to where the small pod landed. When he arrived, the pod was still steaming from the fall. It soon cooled down to reveal a dusty white capsule with a glass little window. He touched the pod, weary and it abruptly opened, scaring him, and so rolling backwards. He rolled back towards the capsule and in it he saw... something he hadn't seen for centuries: a human. A baby girl, to be exact. Tucked in some lilac purple blankets and surrounded with other objects. He showed as much fascination as his pet cockroach. After all, They hadn't seen a human for a couple centuries, since they all left earth and went to space. Slowly, Wall-E reached out to take the letter that was peeking out of the blanket and reads it:
"I know the chances of someone finding this is unlikeable, however I needed to do this. This is my little girl, Annie. She's only a year old. To help you, I have packed anything she might need like diapers, clothes for when she's older, her favorite plush and as much of non perishable food I could pack in. There is also my locket. I hope someone good finds her, even if you are a robot. Thank you.
Annie's mother"
He finished reading and immediately went over to see if the little girl, Annie, was okay. As he went to touch her cheek, she moved and opened her eyes, then stared at him. Instead of crying, like some other babies would, she reached out to his metal fingers and tried to play with them, giggling. Finally, he decided he would "try" to raise her. So, he needed to learn how to pronounce her name.
"Aannee" he tried. He pointed to himself and said "Wall-E".
"Waal-ee" she repeated.
"Aanni" he tried again.
"Wall-ee".
"Annie!" he succeeded.
"Wall-E!' she giggled.
The sun was setting, so it was evident he needed to take her to a safe place. Looking around, he a found a piece of rope long enough and tied it to the pod, then began rolling back to his garage with effort.
