Chapter ???
The Battle For Serpent's CrossingIt was the 28th day of the year and that was the day my enemies shall know my name and tremble.
I was only 18 years old, a young chief that went to battle for Serpent's Crossing, a large ancient stone bridge, which connects to New Kaenach and to The Dragon City of Auror, a city home to our enemy, Pe Sasu Su Eln, The Scale of Hope.
Many ran towards underneath Serpent's Crossing, where water once flowed during ancient times, but now, it is now filled with the corpses of the fallen and many soldiers, who ran passed me, chased their days down to zero, while I calmly walk towards the destruction
I was not with my men down at the bridge, for I was at the top the bridge with four of my strongest warriors nicknamed, L'Inferno, Beatdown, Rusty the Corroder, who has a (unusual) fascination with rust and using it as a weapon, infecting their victims. At the top, my men and I march on top of a hill, made out of the dead corpses of Pa Sasu Su Eln soldiers, as we shoot and beat anyone who dare oppose us. When we're on top of the hill we had made, I grabbed one of the bodies, that is still fighting for his life as he crawls towards me and glared at me with rage filled eyes. I (lightly) glared back at them and I proceed to grab their with my one free hand, since my other hand was holding my mace, and as I do, I noticed something down below the hill and it was another dragon, but a dragon that I wish I wouldn't see today. I frowned underneath my metal helmet, when I spotted that dragon, as I begin to squeeze the dragon, that was in my hand, as they begin to smack my hand and squirm as their head was squashed by the grip of my hand. Then, shaking off the blood out from my free hand, I walk towards my next target, Puso Su Ken, leader of the Pa Sasu Su Eln, and my old friend...It's been days since the Druun attacked the Great City of Draagun and within those days, Tarmos is usually seen at Draagun's magnificent library, The Great Library of Knowledge, it's called, where he is writing the common dragon language (that he taught himself how to read and write the language) as he wrote them for memoirs, just for practice, while being watched by adoring fans from behind. Before he even went over to the library, he was at the Datu residence, where he is always welcome to stay as long as he likes, and he was ready to head out, but a crowd of screaming dragons blocked his way as they all are ready to follow him, just like the day before this and the day before that. At the library, usually all of his fans will get bored watching their idol read and write as this causes them to leave the library and went back to where they're needed, all except Kannika. But today, she wasn't there to bother him and trying to feed him with her meals, that caused her to get kicked out one day since food isn't allowed in the library.
Other than that, every day, Tarmos saw all of the Sisu Fan Club members with a sign that is hanging on their necks by a thin rope. On that sign is one word, one word that made many laugh at the fan club member's faces and this one word is the equivalent of a word from Tarmos's home world and that is... Simp.I was once a gladiator within the Gladiatorial Ring of New Kaenach, where I was called The Masked Brute as many of my audience never knew that a nephew of the chief was a gladiator, all except my friend and brother in arms, Magnus Su Lakas, and his younger brother, Puso Su Ken...
Oh... I'm drained of energy, Tarmos thought, as he then slouches on his seat as he ceases to continue to write.
Tarmos grab a book of arts and culture and head towards the librarian's desk.
"Why, isn't it the library's favorite finder of knowledge, and I see that you're ready to take a book home?" Says the librarian, who is younger than Tarmos.
"That's correct, Miss Anura." Tarmos said as he gives the book to the (only) librarian, who is known as Anura.
"You know, you're fascinating." Anura said out of the blue, while stamping the book that Tarmos was carrying.
"Excuse me?"
"I said that you're fascinating, not many dragons have your interests, like the arts, music, culture literature, etc. And not many of us could read most of the library's books!"
"What can I say, Miss Anura, I'm a fast reader and a searcher of knowledge." Tarmos replied as he got his book back from Anura.
"Speaking of knowledge, me and the dragons within this city, and even the some humans from the clans of Kumandra, want to know about you as an individual, ever since you've saved our home from the Druun." Anura said.
"No." Tarmos replied with a straight face.
"What!"
"You and I are alike, Miss Anura, we both are seekers of knowledge, and alike us, we tend to keep away the knowledge that could harm us and the world." Tarmos explained.
"Aww, the way you say it makes me want to know more." Anura whined.
"Please, Miss Anura, stop being a hatchling, that is unlike you."
Tarmos is now seen walking out from the great library's doors, only to find Sisu and Achara waiting for him.
"Are you ready to hang out?" Sisu asked.
"Yep, just finished half of my next chapter." Tarmos said as he then follow the girls.
"What's the next chapter about?" Achara asked next to him.
"It's about how I met an old friend."
During the days, after the Druun attack, Tarmos spends more time with Sisu and Achara as they usually walk around the city, talk, and chill as Tarmos tells his past at a nice spot within the jungles of Draagun.
The trio soon pass Kannika's Spa as they saw a line of tired dragons and, At the entrance, Kannika was there, keeping the line in order, till she saw the trio.
"Hi girls, hey Tarmos." She said in a exhausted way.
"H-Hey, Kannika?" Tarmos said, raising a unseeable brow, wondering what happened to her.
Tarmos was the first to go up to her and asked. "What happened to you?"
"Well, it's quite rare to have so much costumers at my spa, so, I have to work hard to make more of my costumers satisfied and relaxed. But, that's okay, I feel happy to have more costumers in my spa and I wouldn't have them without your help Tarmos."
"Wh-What? Me?" Tarmos asked.
Achara gasps and her eyes widen as she maybe know the reason why these line of dragons are so tired.
"Tarmos... Did you hurt them?" Achara asked.
Tarmos was shocked and, a little bit, angered by Achara's words as he was going to reply to defend himself, but Kannika interrupts him, saying. "No, Tarmy here didn't hurt anyone, he made his adoring fans tired and exhausted."
"My fans?" Tarmos looks at the line of dragons once again and finally noticed that all of them 'are' his adoring fans.
"Let me guess, did they follow Tarmos around like lost puppies?" Sisu chuckles as she spoke.
"Pretty much." Kannika replied.
Afterwards, the trio all went to a spot, where Sisu said it's a good spot and it really is. The spot I'm referring to has small field of grass, next to it, it has a stream of water which came from a waterfall, and the sun's beam of lights shines through the small spaces of the trees. Before they sat down, Achara gains Tarmos attention when she nudges him.
"Sorry I said what I said back there, I know now it wasn't right to think that you-."
"That's alright, Achara." Tarmos then looks at her and moves his face closer to Achara, which made her uneasy, and he continues to say. "Never do that again."
Rest of the day, they sat on the small field of grass, Sisu and Achara talking about what the most funniest and the most embarrassing moments in their lives, and when it was Tarmos's turn to speak, he begins to talk about his past to the girls, where he was... Tarmos Rime, the ruthless leader of The Old Blood.
"I was once a gladiator within the Gladiatorial Ring of New Kaenach, where I was called The Masked Brute as many of my audience never knew that a nephew of the chief was a gladiator, all except my friend and brother in arms, Magnus Su Lakas, and his younger brother, Puso Su Ken, dot dot dot."
"Dot dot dot?" Sisu said.
"Yep, dot dot dot, that's the only thing I wrote till my energy to keep me going is just gone, so, you guys have to wait for tomorrow and the day before that for me to finish it." Tarmos explains as he put his papers away.
"Even though the chapter is unfinished, it interests me to know that you used to have friends that are dragons. I remember you told us that in your past you had an immense hate for dragons, how so?" Achara asked as this made Sisu interested.
A long silence proceeds this, until Tarmos chuckles and replied with. "You'll soon find out, until next time."
This makes the two female dragons groan in annoyance, wanting know the reason behind Tarmos's hate towards the serpents.
