Marie's p.o.v:
After walking for a good twenty minutes, we finally arrive at Carters house. Carter unlocks the door, then drags me inside. After closing the door, Carter pulls me onto the couch beside him.
Carter pulls me against his chest and looks down at me. For some reason, my head leans onto his shoulder and into the crook of his neck. He chuckles, and I look at him. "Sorry," he says, pulling me closer. "I was just thinking about something." I decide not to press.
About an hour later, my phone rings. The screen reads Dad. Oh god. I hit 'answer'.
"Hello?"
