When we were all little we all said the same thing "I want to be older" or we said "I wish I was your age and could do the things you can do". But now that we are older and we are that age do we still want to be this old? Think about it when we are little all we have to worry about is making new friends and what to do that day. Your parents helped you get dressed, picked out your clothes, they met your friends and took you where you wanted to go. Life is so simple. Yet when we are young we always say "I want to be your age and do the things you can do".
Now older and able to do all these things do you ever look back and think to yourself "I wish I was younger" or "I wish I didn't have to do the things I have to do"? Looking at the past and future we always want to change things or be able to do more when we don't. But what if right now not looking into the future or seeing the past we just live.
It's put into our brains when we are in middle school and high school that your one job is to have good grades and go to a good college and be set for your life. But if all we think about is getting into college and getting that good career that sets us up to make good money. What is the point of being young and having the opportunity to just have fun?
Life is a weird game and were all playing the same one. Everyone has their game piece and we move in any direction, shape or form. But where is the finish line? Where is the part of the game where it tells you that you won and that you made it. Now everyone has their own look on the game. Some play it with direct order and efficiency. Their life is planned out and they know what they want to with their game piece. But others play the game differently and don't know what's next for them and that excites them, they don't know where they're going but it's alright because they are living life and seeing the world.
Like I said everyone is different and has different aspects of the world around them. But the one thing that all of us know is that it's a mystery and we all need to slow down, look at ourselves and ask "What do we want next? Do we want to look into the past and wish or see into the future and hope? Or do you want to live your life right now?"
