I knocked on Mia's door to tell her that diner was ready. she trudged out of her room, mascara smudged across her face. we sit down at the table and i cut the lasagna. we eat quietly for a while until i finally break the silence. "You know, you really disappointed mom and i. we expected better from you" silence. "I know it wasn't ok for me to break your phone and i'm sorry, but could you at least try to forgive me?" i begged. " I will forgive you when the zoo decides to spray paint all the elephants purple" she said as she got up and retreted into her cave of bratitude.
