The Second Star

Chapter 8

*Beeg Time Skip. she's now 16-*

Beginning of Spring, and i'm sitting outside the base, eyepatch covering my left eye, as usual when outside. I'm intending on 'chatting' with Abigail later

"Tiny pest!" i hear Starscream, and i flinch, looking back at the base. My father is standing there, his optics are staring down at me. I get up, and walk over, internally questioning why he wants me right now. He transforms to his jet form, and i stiffen when his holoform comes out. I haven't seen this 'form' for a regular point of time in 11 years. Pale skin is shown from under armor like stuff. Red fabric flows from his shoulderblades, and a red decepticon symbol is in the middle of his chest.

"What did you need?" i ask reluctantly, and he holds something out. He looks slightly irritated, and i reluctantly take it. It's a phone. A PHONE. I TOLD ABIGAIL MY FATHER WOULD GIVE ME ONE.

"That's yours now. Don't. You. Dare. Lose. It." he growls, and i blink, nodding.

"I won't lose it" i say, putting it in my pocket. I go inside, grab my money, and head to the cafe. I walk in, and accidentally bump into someone. I flinch, but Abigail laughs.

"I was wondering when you were going to show up. To my place?" she asks, and i nod, looking up at her. I smile, and follow her to her place. It's a small, nice house, and she lets me in, closing the door behind us.

"Guess what finally happened?!?" i exclaim once it's closed. She smiles at me

"What happened? You finally decided i could buy you a phone?" she asks, and i laugh. Absolutely not. I pull out the phone

"My father got me one" i say, smirking amused. She awes.

"Awesome. Finally, am i right?" she jokes, and i giggle, smiling. She punches me in the shoulder, and then helps me set up the phone. It soon enough has her phone number in my phone, so that we can text outside of my Training, and her work. And soon enough, i head back, walking inside, and going to my room, sitting on my bed, before flopping backwards onto my pillow. What to do now...

A few days later, i've been kind of texting Abigail, and i get one in the afternoon

"When you can, would you like to help me pick out a kitten? I have all the stuff i need for one, just need to choose it" she sends, and i glance up. It's nearly time for my training

"After Training, i can only imagine how Master will react if i miss it" i send back

"Got it!" she replies, and i put my phone down, going for Lord Megatron's lessons. I'm early, like usual at this point. Once he comes in, he starts training.

When today's is done, he nods, telling me to leave. I head out, going to my room, getting my phone, money, eyepatch. I put my phone and money into a pocket, and stuff my gloves into the other. I take out Softie, hug it, before stuffing it into hiding again. Pulling my phone out, i unlock it, and open the messages app

"On my way there" i send to Abigail, technically the only one i CAN text. She sends a thumbs up, and i blink. Well how is THAT done? Whatever. I put my eyepatch on, stuff my phone into my pocket, and climb out the window, dropping to the ground with ease. I then make my way to Abigail's place, seeing her chilling outside of her door, watching something on her phone. She looks up, and smiles at me.

"To the shelter?" she asks, and i nod. The Shelter? She puts her phone away, and gestures for me to follow her, which i do

"Guess i don't need to grab paper for you, huh?" she jokingly asks, and i smile, punching her in the shoulder. She laughs, and she brings me to a simple building.

"The animal shelter. I'd gotten a call saying they got some kittens recently. I'm hoping to give one of them a forever home" she says, smiling. Walking inside, a friendly looking man greets us.

"Ah Abigail, you were planning on taking a kitten, weren't you? And who's this?" he asks, and Abigail nods

"This is my friend, she's going to be helping me choose. She'd like to be called X, right?" she asks, and i nod.

"Alright, nice to meet you X. i'm Chioke. I'm a volunteer here" he says, and i smile. I don't know how to say nice to meet you without speaking...

"Silent type huh?" he asks, and i nod "makes sense. My little sister hates talking" he says, and i smile. Maybe i can have another human friend. He leads us to the kittens, which all of them all bundles of fluff with silky soft-looking fur.

"I've been taking care of these ones" he says proudly. They all have striped, or spots of pure white breaks through fur. But one, a mix of three colours. I glance to Abigail, and i see she's caught by the three coloured one as well.

"The tortoiseshell?" Abigail asks, and i blink. Is that what it's called? The guy nods, and gently picks up the little kitten. It mews in slight alarm, and looks at him.

"I think you'd be a good owner for this little girl" "it's a girl?" Abigail asks, and he nods.

"She's a girl. Yes" he says, and she takes the kitten from him, petting her head

"Yeah. i want her, you approve Star?" she asks me, and i smile, and nod. The kitten is a cutie.

"She's mine now" she says, smiling. He laughs

"Well you have to do the paperwork" he points out, and she huffs at him, before laughing. I roll my eyes, and pet the kitten. She blinks up at me with dull gold eyes. This is a combination of eye colours. I have red, Abigail has green, this kitten has gold. Sheesh, does this guy have blue or purple or something?

"Star, can you take care of the kitten while i do the paperwork?" Abigail asks, and i nod, before she passes me the kitten. Her small and probably sensitive paws are soft against my wrists. Aw. she's a cutie. After a while of the kitten sniffing my arm, she lies down, silent. Like me.

"So she likes you Star" Abigail chuckles and i smile, seeing her walk over. I put the kitten in the kitten carrier Abigail got from the guy, and we head to her place. When we get inside, the door gets closed, and she puts the carrier down, opening it, and letting the kitten, who i don't know the name of.

"What do you think i should name her?" Abigail asks, and i look to her.

"Didn't the portal parasite" "um" she cuts me off, giving me an amused smile. "Your Decepticon is showing" she says laughing. I roll my eyes "it's the only way i KNOW her! Didn't she say you would probably have a bird?" i point out, and she thinks, sitting on the floor beside the carrier, where the kitten is coming out sniffing the ground

"Oh yeah, she did. How about something bird related?" she says, and i nod

"Good idea" i say smiling.

"Hmmmm any suggestions?" she asks, and i chuckle

"It's YOUR cat!" i laugh, and she smiles, before looking at the small fluffy spotted kitten. Her gaze is quiet.

"Chirp. That's her name" she states, and i smile. Chirp.

"Nice name. Better call the shelter and have it put on the paperwork" i laugh, and she laughs as well.

"Going to have to train her. You going to stick around?" she asks, and i blink, pulling out my phone to see the time. They don't usually want me around this time

"For a while" i say, and she smiles, before i sit down on the other side of the carrier. I just watch as Chirp wanders around the room, sniffing, and trying to figure out where she can and can't go. After a while

"I should go" i say, she looks to me.

"Sure. see you" she says smiling. I walk out, making sure Chirp doesn't chase after me. I smile, and head back to base. Climbing up the wall to my window, i drop in, and like usual, land on my feet.

Alright. Now to wait for more interesting.
