The Second Star

Chapter 9

One year later.

I haven't gotten in huge trouble since before i got my cannons. That was over a year ago. I mean, i guess i'm glad, but still. I head out, of course with money, and my eyepatch, i head to the cafe, seeing Abigail behind the counter. She looks, stressed. I frown, and walk over, which she looks up, giving me an almost forced smile.

"Hey Star, Hot Cocoa?" she asks, and i nod, and point at a doughnut, but then point at her. She frowns, but the smile grows real.

"You want to give me a doughnut?" she asks, and i smile, nodding. She chuckles, taking out a doughnut, and making me hot cocoa.

"Let's head to my place?" she asks, and i blink, glancing to the machine as i push money onto the counter to pay, and she puts it away

"I'll be out in a bit. Just wait for me outside" she says, and i nod, taking both things and head outside, sitting on a bench, and sip from my hot cocoa. Minutes later, she comes out without her work outfit. She wears a t-shirt with pants. The shirt is a teal blue, with flecks of purple formatted as flowers. Pretty.

"I know you would have preferred red, or some other colour, but it was given to me from my grandmother on my dad's side, and i love it" she says, and i shrug. I pass her the doughnut, then we walk to her place. Once we go inside, Chirp meows at me. I chuckle

"Hi Chirp!" i say smiling. She's still fluffy.

"What was up Abi. you looked stressed when i walked in" i say, looking at her. She sits on the couch, and i sit beside her

"Just not a good work day. That's all" she says, biting into her doughnut. I blink, feeling my cannons forming over my skin

"Hey. put those away" she says, seeing them, and i laugh, right away having my skin clear to normal. Chirp leaps up, trying to take a bite of Abi's doughnut, her golden eyes staring up at her.

"No Chirp, you can't have my doughnut" she laughs, and i smile, taking from my hot cocoa. We just sit in quiet as we have our stuff, and Abigail just trying to keep Chirp from stealing her food.

"We should really figure out how to make cat doughnuts for her" she jokes, and i laugh, jabbing her in the arm with my shoulder.

"By the way, have you spoken to Chioke recently?" Abigail asks, and i blink, shaking my head no

"Really? I wonder if he still volunteers at the shelter" she thinks aloud, and i smile, shrugging

"Don't know" i say, and she chuckles, finishing her doughnut, and licks her fingers, which Chirp mreows in protest. I laugh, and pet the cat, before finishing my drink as well.

"Well, i'll head out. Something... feels off" i say, and she looks at me,

"Sure, see you another time Star" she says, smiling. I get up, walking out, and find a disposal container, leaving the empty hot cocoa cup in there, and i sigh, following my gut. What i find, catches me off guard for a second. I'm in the middle of a staredown of both "alien" sides.

"X! Get over here!" i hear Prime's daughter call out.

"Tiny pest" my father growls, low, and threatening "come here" he adds, and i take a second, before walking over to the Decepticon side

"What are you doing?!?" Cappy cries. She sounds desperate. And confused.

"Take off that pathetic eye patch" my father growls, and i lift my hands to my head, hesitate when i meet Cappy's gaze. She's panicked. Here's that betrayed look i was waiting for... i smirk, taking off the eyepatch and tossing it to the ground and open that eye that was previously blocked. I feel my gaze turn slightly red on that side, and i smile. She looks hurt that i wouldn't share this secret. Well i had no choice here. Might as well make it a bit more satisfying for me

"Awww. look at that, Father, the Prime's Daughter is shattered! Poor her, hm?" i hear Starscream growl when i call him Father, but doesn't do anything about it. This time, since it's taunting the Autobots.

"You... You've been keeping these three things from me?!? I THOUGHT YOU WERE MY FRIEND" she cries out, she looks angered now. I blink in surprise.

"Me? Friends with An AUTOBOT?!? Ew" i say, which i can see ticks off the Prime as well.

"We saved you multiple times. Did that not mean anythi-" "oh of course it did. It was something fun, even if i got in trouble" i cut her off with a smile.

"Tiny pest. Leave" Starscream growls, and i back up.

"Will do. I think i've given them enough anger as it is" i say smiling. I glance around, and see Firewall. I head to her, and she looks down at me, transforming and letting me get in. she takes off, and flies off, with me

"I'm glad i got a chance to get rid of that eye patch, but i'll need a new one" i grumble, and i hear her chuckle. The rest of the fly is quiet as she takes me back to the base.

"I'm sure Starscream is proud of you for doing that" she speaks up after we go in. i lift my head, and i can't stop the hope in my chest from glowing

"Do you really think so?" i ask, and she chuckles, letting me out, and i hop onto the ground, looking up at her as she transforms

"I can ask him once they return" she says smiling. I smile back

"We might have to keep you safe for a while though" she admits, and i chuckle

"I've snuck out of this base. I'm sure i could sneak out of theirs!" i say confidently. She laughs, and i smile, before walking to my room.

"Hey Second Star!" i hear Firewall, and i walk over to where she is. I see her jet off to the side, and her holoform is leaning against it. She sees me walk in, and smiles, pushing herself off, and walks over.

"Here. that human who you hang out with told me to give this to you" she says. Abigail? She had the confidence to go up to a Decepticon, and give them something to give to me? Firewall hands me a paper bag, and i open it, seeing a eyepatch with a flower engrained into the fabric. Underneath it, i find a piece of paper, and i take it out.

"I know you got rid of that eye patch your mother had given you. But i do also know you don't go out in public without covering that Decepticon eye. So i had gotten this custom made for you. I expect you to come say hi to Chirp again soon! Haha!

PS. i found out from the Prime's Daughter. What a Snitch!

-Abigail" it reads. I smile

"What a nice human" Firewall says, and i laugh.

"I know right?" i say looking up at her "if she joined us, i would be fully for it. It would be awesome!" i add, smiling. She looks amused, before her holoform disappear, and i walk back to my room, trying on this new eyepatch. It fits nicely, and i think it looks nice
