I often stare at you in wonder, as well as amazement
For you're covered in mighty shackles
Thick, rusted, and worn
They have been upon your wrists for quite a while
And now that I think about it, worry accompanies the wonder and amazement
Because I am unaware how tight your shackles might be
Because I am unaware how to loosen them
Because I am unaware how to break them
Or to even unlock them
Knowing this
This is when the worry strikes
I am unaware how to be of aid
Have you put those shackles there yourself?
Do you perhaps want them there?
Do you want me to free you?
I want to
I want to be of usefulness
And for you to be free
But I realize now, I cannot impact your mighty shackles
No,
I can't free you from them
I wish I could
But no matter how much I want to
No matter how much you may or may not want me to
I can't
Only you may tackle them
And I hope you can understand
That I have done all I may,
That they are yours to battle
Or that they are yours to leave upon yourself
Only to weigh you down
But you may feel to scared to break those shackles
You may feel too weak
Too insecure
Too worthless
But that is false,
Because you live each day
Is that not strength?
And your shackles,
Will rust,
Will weaken,
Only at your own choice
Otherwise they will weigh you down
But never feel afraid of destroying your own shackles
Because as much as I or anyone else may want to,
There are some shackles only you may unlock
And then you're free
Free as a bird
And fly as high as you so deserve!
and feel a sense of calmness,
A sense of self,
A sense of freedom,
And a sense of life.
