Chapter 3

     June 16th, 1870, 1:28 AM

     Hyun-woo awoke from his slumber looking for revenge. He stared at his sleeping wife and was immediately enraged. He got out of bed and saw a kitchen knife still on the table. Grabbing it, he sneaked back upstairs. He traced the knife over his wife's soft pale skin. Quickly, he left a couple of cuts on her arm. Dark red blood oozed out of her arms and face. This wasn't enough, he picked her up and threw her over her shoulder. He ran outside to the lake and played with the water. Suddenly, Mrs.Kim awoke and saw the cuts on her arms. Hearing her move around, he pulled her into the water and pushed her down. She tried to scream but they were covered up by her splashing. After 30 minutes, her splashing and gurgling stopped. She sank to the bottom and died. The moon glistening on the water mixed with blood, showing her body. Hyun-woo let go of her head and stared at the lake. He realized what he had done and began to sob. Apologizing to her and everything around him. He ran around, searching for someone to help him. Nobody could help him. Suddenly, the police yelled out to him. He turned around and fell onto the blood soaked dirt. He was sobbing and pleading for god to forgive him. The two officers picked him up off of the floor and threw him into the back of the carriage. He could see Yoonah's long black hair peeking out from behind a bush. He couldn't understand what had just happened and looked out of the tiny window of the carriage and saw all of the townsfolk in shock. They arrived at the jailhouse where the officers forced him into a dirty cell. "I thought he was different. Apparently not." one of the officers whispered to the other. Hyun-woo was left there for 3 days before he finally surrendered. He took the blanket from his bed and wrapped it around his neck. Before jumping, he yelled out his wife's name before hanging himself. Newspapers were everywhere, everyone knew. "Perfect husband murders wife and hangs himself 3 days later." After the police force threw his body outside, the bushes moved, and there he stood.
