Mystery in Ryme City

Chapter 1

Somewhere deep within the Pokemon world, there lied a hidden lab. And inside was a great secret. 

Many scientists were hard at work, researching on their top project. One scientist turned on the light to some containment camber, revealing an unknown Pokemon in a deep sleep. 

The shadow of another Pokemon was shown running through the hallway as sparks flew from a locked door. The Pokemon then ran outside, jumping into a car with its master and quickly drove off. 

The unknown Pokemon opened its eyes, sensing them. 

"They're outside..." It said. 

The whole lab started rumbling as the glass to the camber holding the Pokemon cracked. Alarms started blaring. 

"We're losing power on the containment camber!" A female scientist alerted. 

Suddenly, the Pokemon's eyes glowed as it used it's psychic powers to bust out of the lab, destorying everything and everyone in it. 

The Pokemon flew up into the air before spotting the car driving down the road and chased after it. The car came across a bridge when the Pokemon struck it with one of its attacks, sending it flying over the bridge and crashing below.

"All right, do we have everything?" Teeders asked. 

"I packed all the food" Ann confirmed, placing the last few items in her bag. 

"And I got our hiking gear" Brock added. 

"I still can't believe we're heading back to the Pokemon world" David said with a smile. 

"It has been quite awhile" Teeders mentioned. "Sure hope the Professor has been taking good care of our pokemon"

"He better" Cynthia said. "My precious angels deserve the utmost care" 

"Yeah..." Cecilia spoke, being her usual dreary self. "What you guys said..."

Just then, Kali came in asking everyone. "Is everybody ready?"

"Yeah!" The Akids replied in excitement. 

"Yay!" Cecilia cheered with no emotion. 

"Okay, off to the Pokemon world we go!" Kali declared. 

Kali then used her crystal to open a portal and the gang jumped through it. When they arrived on the other side, they found themselves right outside the Professor's lab. 

"I wonder if he's home" David said. 

Just then, the door opened and out came the Professor smiling and waving to his guests. "Ah, Adventure Kids. So good to see you again. We're all very glad you came back"

"Hey, Professor!" The Akids greeted. 

"How are the Pokemon?" Ann asked. 

"Why, they're all just doing splendid!" The Professor replied before asking the Akids to follow him. 

The Akids followed the Professor through his lab, seeing all of his assistants hard at work doing their research on all the different Pokemon species. The Professor soon presented the Akids with their pokeballs. They each had three. 

"Here they are. I left them just how you all requested" He said. 

"Thanks, Professor" Kali smiled while the Akids took their pokeballs. 

Brock then had an idea. "Hey, guys, how about a Pokemon battle?"

The rest of the Akids were all quick to agree on that idea. 

"I bet our Pokemon would like that very much too" Teeders mentioned. "Give them a chance to stretch out their muscles"

"Well then, let the battle begin!" Kali said.

"And may the best trainer win!" Cynthia added. 

Soon the Akids were out back in the Professor's yard, preparing to battle. They decided they'd each go head to head and the two remaining would face off in the final match. Cecilia would be the referee, along with her Gothitelle. 

(And cue the theme song)

Ann was up against Cynthia who had her Beautifly out. So naturally, Ann sent out her Plusle, quickly winning the match due to having the type advantage. 

David and Teeders battled next. David sent out his partner Breloom while Teeders had her Girafarig. It was a very close battle, but in the end Teeders won. 

It was then Brock VS Kali, with Brock's Minun against Kali's Swellow. Despite Brock having a clear type advantage, Swellow was able to pull through and beat Minun. 

Ann and Teeders went up against each other next, this time using different Pokemon. Teeders ended up beating Ann's Sprigatito with her Ivysaur. 

Now it was just down to Kali and Teeders. The final match. Teeders led with her Wigglytuff while Kali chose her partner, Ampharos. 

"Wigglytuff, use body slam!" Teeders ordered. 

"Thunder punch, Ampharos!" Kali quickly called out. 

The two Pokemon collide with great force, causing this big explosion. Everyone opened their eyes once the dust cleared, revealing a dazed out Wigglytuff on the ground but an exhuasted Ampharos still standing. 

"That settles it" Cecilia announced. "Kali wins the match!" 

Kali ran up to praise her Pokemon while the rest of the Akids smiled, having really enjoyed the battle. 

"Next time I won't go so easy on you" Teeders winked at Kali. 

"Oh, sure, Teeds" Kali teased playfully. "How about, best 2 out of 3?" 

Everyone laughed, when the Professor then came out and over to them. 

"Great battle" He applauded. 

"Thanks, Professor" Kali smiled, still stroking her Ampharos. 

The Professor then pushed back his glasses, asking the Akids. "Might I have a word with all of you"

"Sure, Professor" David shrugged his shoulders. 

The Professor nodded before leading them back to the lab. "Follow me"

The Akids all looked to each other in silence, wondering what the Professor could want from them.
